The Pear Tree is nestled away by the Grand Union in one corner of a canal boat mariner. The hotel is separate from the restaurant which is run by a young and enthusiastic team serving predominantly carvery food which is outstanding value for money. There is usually a real ale and always a good selection of reasonably priced wines. It is a Mitchell's and Butler enterprise and of good standard.
The hotel is quiet and in a leafy part of Milton Keynes where you are out in the country, yet wanting f. kaikki arvostelut »
After searching for a reasonably priced hotel for a one night stay as I had a full day interview the following day. I read some reviews, some good some not so good. I have to say I have nothing but positive thoughts on Peartree Lodge. Nice reception staff, good clean room, very comfortable bed and pillows so I had a great night sleep. The bathroom tiles look a little old but good new shower, clean heavy shower curtain so it didn't get sucked on the skin during a hot shower!
Yes, you have to pa.
The rooms are awesome. Spacious, modern, comfortable. The bed is huge.
The towels are huge and fluffy and heated. The shower was amazing.
I am working in MK 2 days a week and after 2 days here, I've cancelled the other hotel that I had booked and have booked myself in for the rest of the month at Peartree. The staff are really helpful and friendly. And the rooms are just so nice and clean. Great location us takes me less than 10 minutes to drive to Central MK. Loads of parking spaces and great .
Loved the room. Heating was on when I arrived which helped make it more welcoming. The rooms have been refurbished to a very high standard. Nice size, bed was the most comfortable bed I have had in hotels. Bathroom also a nice size and done out to a high spec. Would definitely recommend it and would stay there again. Excellent value for money. Did not eat there so unable to comment on restaurant. Will recommend to others.
Everything The night receptionist was very polite and smiled with a
genuine smile. The room was superb and the view of the Marina was so
beautiful. The narrow boats were great and the area was tranquil. The
Crown carvery next door was value for money with a meal to die for.
The breakfast was another delight eat as much as you like for a 4
quid! The girl there was so nice and polite and overall they really
looked after you.
We loved the cleanliness and comfortable bed in the Peartree Lodge much better than the Holiday Inn, Best Western Hotels we often use. The lack of eating facilities were no hardship as the pub next door does very reasonable eat as much as you want breakfast & dinner. The staff there were very helpful as my wife has coeliac which proved to be no problem. We liked it so much we booked an extra night. We will go again.
Have been travelling through europe and stayed at the pear tree because it was close to family in downs barn. They recommended it. I have to say it has been the most comfortable sleep i have had in the last four weeks. I wish I took note of the type of mattress and pillows while I was there...best sleep ever!! And the carvery was very nice as well.
I really liked my room, it was well appointed and had been reccently
refurbished. House keeping was meticulous and room was always very
clean. Towels were big and fluffy. The inn attached to the hotel had
excellent value roast meals for £4.19. The hotel is also right next to
the Grand Union Canal, which is great to exercise along.
I was the first guest at this re opened hotel and it was fabulous. The rooms are very well equipped and very comfortable. The views waterside are great to wake up to. The hotel staff are really polite and helpful. I am due to stay in Milton Keynes for a 14 week contract and after 3 hotels I have booked here for the next 10 weeks.
I stay in Lots of hotels in this area, and loved the price under forty pounds which i think was good for what they offered, the staff in particular a gentleman on the night shift were extremely helpful and friendly! I had a room with a great view and the was a pub next door serving great food , very convenient.
Room was comfortable and well-equipped.
Wide corridors made carrying a baby car seat and luggage easy, without the usual side-shuffle to avoid scraping the walls.
Friendly staff.
Inexpensive food on the doorstep plus a range of higher quality restaurants within walking distance.
My fiance and I really liked the super king size bed ;-) , the staff were really friendly and were very happy to help. As it was only the 3rd week of opening there was a few teething problems but the staff soon rectified them.
Quiet location with good views of the boats and water, great price as well. The room was so comfy and spacious. TV was great, loved the sweet kettle making unit. Shame we only stayed the one night. Will return again.
It was lovely waking up with a lovely river view, very clean comfortable ideal for a stay over if you wanna b near all the big shops nice bars and resturants. Staff very pleasant hope she does well in future.

Nice to wake up to ducks on Canal and narrow boats. Perfect for my business trip with plenty parking.
Everything, the rooms has just been refurbished, extremely good value for money, great TV beautiful setting, best value I have ever received in a hotel, best hotel hairdryer ever.
Easy access to Milton Keynes, Reasonably priced meals, the informal attitude of staff regarding the delivery of take-away meals was refreshing, although we never ordered any.
Nice Hotel. Clean. Silent to sleep. Bar is at the same building. If you want to have a pint of beer you can get. Breakfast was good. At extra cost. And internet was fast.
location, size of hotel, quiet area, very good beds and bathrooms, easy to find,
good parking.
Good breakfast available at reasonable price and all you could eat.
Our room was very clean, I would have thought just decorated, new carpet and bedding, could have grouted the bathroom in the update although quite exceptable.
Accommodation was clean and had all that was needed for a short stay. Arrived late at night and left early so no chance to experience food or surroundings.
Great staff, Sarah at reception deserves a special mention. She was really friendly and helpful.
Room was spacious, clean and peaceful. Great value too.

close to canal walk .
the bed is a big thing with hotels and most don't seem to bother, pear tree beds were good ! but then again there new beds ???.
Good location and view of barges in the basin.
Large room, large bed, large TV (Best picture in any hotel for years).
Very helpful staff.
The room was beautifully clean, bed comfortable, shower gel provided was lovely, hotel smelt fresh and clean, staff warm and friendly.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable and clean. Location was excellent and overall very good value for money.

Food was excellent and reasonably priced.Rooms were very clean and staff very helpful.Surroundings peaceful.
Nicely thought out, quiet rooms with enormous bed! Decent and very well priced restaurant adjacent for both dinner and breakfast.
The roses out side the window. The canal with boats as a view. The very quiet and comfotable bed.price of accommodation and food.
We thought it was very good value for money. Fantastic bed and shower. Cleaning staff were lovely as were the senior staff.
Wonderful view of the canal and surroundings and excellent value for money and I have stayed at several places on business.
The narrow boat location was lovely. The room was clean and the staff friendly. I would recommend thie Peartree for value.
location, nice setting and refurbishment made rooms lovely. The pub did a really tasty carvery and great value for money.
Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were extremely clean, shower was amazing and all in a really good central location.
Nice location, very cheap good food, lovely italian receptionist. The room was clean and warm, good value for money.
Well worth the money will stay there again. Very handy having the pub resturant right next door at very good prices.
The Lodge was clean and quiet, and within a short distance of Milton Keynes shopping centre and other facilities.
Everything you would expect of a UK-standard chain hotel really: great wifi, comfortable beds, all mod cons. Top.
We both like to walk, which we did along the Grand Union canal, but I also like shopping which is also nearby.
Staff were helpful.
Hotel room was as described.
Food was great.
Julia and the rest of the staff were great.
Location, especially as next to canal and pub/restaurant next door and near to places we wanted to visit.
Comfy bed, fabulous shower, and all beautifully clean. Very comfortable stay, would definitely stay again.
Room was very comfortable - great beds, clean and quiet. Good carvery and breakfast next door. Free wifi.
Very comfortable, well-managed small hotel adjacent to Grand Union Canal. Has excellent free Wi-fi.
liked almosteverything about the place. Jessie at the bar was particularly friendly & helpful.
Having to leave!.
The adjacent bar and restaurant. Really old and looks in need of
a facelift.
The rubbish left by the untidy people the night before. This was strewn
near the canal and annoyed me when the bin was only feet away. Also
Glasses left out on tables. And finally the morning receptionist was not
a happy bunny in contrast to the evening one. Not a smile not a good
morning until I was leaving and she wanted a customer satisfaction
survey doing. She needs to smile more!.
The wifi became unreliable, with a goof signal being recieved but
connection to the internet unreliable. I t was being upgraded the week I
was there.
Nothing.
I got woken up twice to have my room cleaned even though there was a DND sign outside my door!!, The smoke alarm went off continously for 25 mind and i saw no sign to suggest this was a test drive day... would be better with a phone in the room,Was told the price would be increasing to double what i paid..... lovely place otherwise.
No real dislikes considering the low cost.
Getting up in the mornings and having to come home.
Reception staff could have been more happy! they seemed glum.
Shower curtain dirty
Windows dirty
Restaurant very basic had to walk need to have torch as very very dark across the bridge and field to another pub in the evening ye old swan beautiful food and reasonably priced too.
No complaints.
Some of the decorative plants were plastic and most of the real ones were dead.
On-going maintenance work and the smell of paint.
Was difficult to find. Sat nav driven me opposite. And it was dark already. But then I made a call and find it at last:).
no aircon and with temps in high 20's the small fan provided was not really good enough. That's it.
several people seemed to be waiting for the breakfast to start at 8.0.. maybe 7.30 would be a better time, also on sun they could have done with more chefs.
Reception staff were polite but could have been a bit more friendly and precise when booking in and informing us where our room was.
The pub next door was awful. Badly in need of a re-furb and looks down-trodden and rough.
Can't complain! However false fire alarm kept going off on
Sunday morning.
The hotel is let own by the bar next door, full of quite rough characters the Saturday evening we were there, unfortunately this would probably put us off returning. Pity really because the restaurant was ok.
all ok.
Breakfast in the pub next door was as bad as the service .... sorry not the fault of the hotel :(.
Nothing.
Food was buffet so not top quakity. But plenty of it.
Reception staff were unwelcoming, disinterested and unhelpful especially the one who was on duty in the mornings. These are the people who create the first impressions of the company and sadly they created and continued to compound a negative image. Reception staff are so important and should be friendly, welcoming and informative.
Nothing.
pub was very busy and some of the locals were a bit loud in the bar. Bar decor a bit tired.
It's a bit difficult to find, not signposted. There was a bad smell in the bathroom coming from the sewer.
Leaving after 2 nights.
Nothing.
Early check-out time.
Nothing we didn't like. Staff was very friendly and we had breakfast and an evening meal next door which for the price was very good.
Bar closed before 12. (Only kidding can't be helped).
Nothing!.
Lack of public telephone.
would like if there was a choice of fish or scampi on the menu ass well? I dont eat meat & found the carvery was limited to meat eaters.
