Owner very welcoming and took the trouble to ring a local eatery for us to book a table for our evening meal on arrival. Lovely location and views across valley to hills, we watched a firework display on the other side of the hills from the terrace on our last evening with a glass of wine - very nice! A luxury standard guest house, good breakfast. You can apparently order an evening meal but we did not use that service. Lovely gardens and terrace areas to sit and watch the Peak Rail trains go b.

Lots of thoughtful touches such as bath robes, champagne in ice bucket on arrival, binoculars on windowsill to watch wildlife in garden, extensive range of DVD's. Our welcome was very warm and friendly. Great location, lovely views to the rear of the guest house, v friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. Overall an excellent stay, Many thanks. Outstanding. Beautifully decorated place in good location place to explore the Peak District. Friendly atmosphere and good service. The room was well laid out and had great views. Breakfast was delicious with good choices. Friendly & welcoming hosts. Setting was so beautiful. Our room was attractive and very comfortable. Staff was so nice. Price was great value. A good size room and bath room. Good homely food well presented- the bacon at breakfast was excellent. Staff welcoming and friendly. Location was ideal for reaching the places we planned to visit. Made very welcome, excellent breakfast, very convenient for Chatsworth. Spotlessly well appointed room. Beds very comfortable. View superb. Lovely "stables" rooms with little deck areas. Lovely views!. clean friendly and well located. Everything. The guest house was in a good location for the White Peak. It was a beautiful house and had a good view from the front bedrooms. The bed was very comfortable. The guest house had good facilities. Rooms were very nicely furnished, with comfy bedding and fluffy towels. Fabulous House Delicious breakfast, particularly the sausages. The location and the view. My room was attractive and comfortable. Stayed in the Chatsworth Room for 40th wedding anniversary weekend and it was wonderful beautiful setting and they could not do enough for us. Breakfast is superb would defiantly stay again. While it is in a lovely location it is metres away from the A6. Overall the noise was not a major issue even at night with the window ajar. However, leaving the carpark from either entrance is not for the faint hearted driver!. I was disappointed that check out was at 10.30 am and that breakfast finished so early - last orders 9.30 am - I think that it is very early especially for a Sunday. By the time we had finished breakfast we had about 30 mins to clear out of the room. Nothing everything was spot on!. The only recommendation we would make is a non-slip mat in the bath. Nothing. Very close to A6 but road was actually a very quiet. Nothing to dislike. Shame about the weather!. The food was priced as gourmet but was very standard. There were many draconian rules, such as there will be a charge for damage, that did not create a welcoming atmosphere. The location, although a great view from front of the house over fields, the property is not really in the countryside with limited walking directly from the house and no local country pub. I should have researched this better before I booked. Overpriced. Absolutely not the fault of the guesthouse itself, but it happens to be pretty isolated from shops and places of interest other than Chatsworth.... With only one respectable-ish restaurant within walking distance.
