  We arrived early,really only wanted to drop cases off but was warmly greeted and allowed up to to our rooms. We had a knock a few mins later to check everything was in order. The whole establishment was spotless and all staff very friendly, would certainly stop again and recommend to others. At the end of the road approx 400m is the bus stop that ... mitä ihmiset sanovat » takes you straight to Princes street. £1.50 one way or £3.50 for "hop on hop off" per day. £7.50 for a Taxi.But if feeling fit could walk in about 20m - Although we could not take the room until 2pm we were able to leave our bags much earlier and have them moved to our room when it was ready so we were free to enjoy an afternoon in Edinburgh, which very much appreciated. Room was spacious and comfortable with all the facilities we needed for a short stay. Breakfast was decent and filling and at a reasonable time. The hotel is along a block of expensive houses, and so you feel as if you are coming 'home'. - Four star service: we were shown to our room, even though it was a five stair climb. Breakfast buffet was excellent (with cheese, meat, fruit, yoghurt etc). Location was great (central and quiet). Hotel had real grandeur, with a breakfast room that looked like a ball room.

  Staff were friendly on arrival and made everything very easy for myself and my partner even though it was a busy time with everyone checking in in time for Scotland Vs. Ireland at the 6 nations. Our room was ready on arrival and we couldn't have had a better room! We had an amazing sleep in the seriously comfy bed and woke up fresh - We (my husband and I) stayed in BB 3 nights. It was a very good experience. People here is very friendly and willing to help for anything. Our room is designed so amazing as Scotland style. It's also excellent with the price you pay. We strongly recommend visitors staying this beautiful and good -serviced BB.

  The Edinburgh Lodge was welcoming and friendly. The staff are friendly and informative. The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable, offering en-suite facilites with added touches. Breakfast was great too. Some signs of wear and tear here and there but it has the character of an older building which was exactly what I was looking for in Scotland.   The location is great; 10’ walk to the castle and plenty of local restaurants around. We were two couples and after reading some reviews, I had my reservations about the sofa bed. Especially given that I am quite toll (1.9mts - (6.3 feet). However both my partner and I fit comfortable, sleeping very well throughout the night. Clean and well equipped with towels, shower gel, kitchen appliances (including a steam iron) and free Wi-Fi. There was a brand new sofa bed in the living room. It was huge (about 2 metres wide) it felt like a bed and we had a good night sleep without problems.
