Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were efficient and friendly.
Lunch was very nice though the continental breakfast left a lot to be
desired, bread was stale, orange juice kept running out and cereals were
in boxes. Very basic and poor, if the breakfast was sorted out this
hotel would be excellent throughout.
Service was excellant and staff very polite and friendly.Food was
prepared to a high standard. The Foxglove Inn which adjoins the lodge was
cosy and warm. And a big thank you to James the waiter who went the extra
mile with all our needs.A Very nice week end spent we will be back!. kaikki arvostelut »
Friendly reception, simple, no fuss efficiency. Lovely room & very good dinner (we had the Friday night fish deal
with half-price wine).
A continental breakfast was included in the price, and all in all this was excellent value for money.
ease of car parking, could park right outside the room, rooms comfortable, warm, good shower, continental breakfast good range , pub was lovely with a good ambience and quick service, very good value for money for the price.quiet location.
Nothing to do with the hotel as such but after using my card on
letsbookhotel.com I got hit with credit card fraud to the tune of just short
of £1000. letsbookhotel.com it appears sends over all of your card details
including cvv code.
The setting is beautiful and the pub/restaurant is charming. The food was really good and reasonably priced. The rooms have been re-done recently, so they're fresh. Pip at reception is awesome! She's a one-woman-ball of can-do energy.
The friendly welcome the great easygoing attitude of the staff. The very clean and thoughtfully laid out design of the rooms. The excellent breakfast. The staff seem to go that extra mile to make your stay enjoyable.
Arrived a little later than planned but staff made us feel welcome and showed us to our room.
We ate in the bar and the whole experience was first class, even our 14 year old son enjoyed it and that's a plus.
Good Parking. Very welcome and efficient greeting and check-in. Good food, fantastic ambience, friendly charasmatic staff. Good clean room with everything required for a chilled out weekend retreat.
Meals were OK-interior of pub was very olde worldly and attractive with
little corners and hideaways here and there, not just an open
bar/restaurant area.Basic but adequate room and facilities.
Really nice comfy place ..... cosy bar/eating place
Staff lovely and very friendly.
Will return in the future.
Very impressed with the price which included breakfast ...... yes .... very nice.
Friendly and helpful staff. Found us a table for dinner even though it
was Valentines and fully booked! Room was cosy and well equipped and not
too much traffic noise.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was good and there was a lovely complimentary breakfast included. The place was well kept and inviting.
Clean and comfortable room.
Location next to first class Pub/restaurant.
Nice location and walking distance near Kirkburton.
Overall a very enjoyable stay.
Mostly everything, especially the separate lodge to stay in. Plus the
tv set quality was excellent compared to many hotels that buy in cheap
flat screens.
Location, accommodation, food and friendly staff. Especially useful for us, being from Israel, was a telephone in the room which had a credit card slot.
-Lovely looking bar/restaurant
-Very Friendly Staff
-Lovely Food
-Was able to take breakfast back to room
-Was ok with being 30min late for check out.
Very warm welcome from the manager on arrival we were early in getting there as room was ready we were checked in earlier than check in time.
Comfortable room, although fitments (lampshades and fittings) a bit "tired". Food excellent, good wide choices, pleasantly served.
Staff very welcoming upon arrival. Room lovely and clean with pleasant decor. Location was lovely and restaurant was excellent :).
Excellent value for money, clean, comfortable, quiet yet easily accessible location and excellent selection for dinner.
The overall relaxing atmosphere .the friendly staff in the pub/restaurant--nothing was too much trouble for them.
that the residence and the restaurant were both of an excellent standard. the inn was particularly well set out.
Location is around 3 miles out of city centre in a nice quiet secluded spot. Has been recently renovated.
very comfortable room
very clean bedlinen
lovely breakfast and had 2 evening meals which were excellent.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was perfect
for what we wanted to do.
Everything about the place from the moment we arrived to our departure. Very professionally run.
Clean well presented rooms. Friendly staff. I would recommend this hotel without reservation.
Peaceful and beautiful place. What a find!. Will definitely revisit.
Staff were delightful.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food and drink were of a high standard.
The staff were very friendly we would stay again, the food was very good.
Friendly staff, clean comfortable room. Fresh breakfast, good value!!.
Friendly staff. Location was ideal as not far from city centre.
Staff fantastic, and rooms very nice great drinks and great food.
Nice sized room with lovely en-suite. Free wi-fi and parking.
Rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Food was excellent.
Relaxed, quiet, clean, comfortable. Good value.
We did not fault any of it, it was very nice.
Nice clean place with friendly helpful staff.
Good menu in The Foxglove at a fair price.
Staff very friendly, location for us good.
Excellent value for money, helpful staff.
Nice pub and good sized family room.
Great location and very nice hotel.
Location & cost were excellent.
Nice atmosphere in the pub area.
Satisfactory from every aspect.
The room was nice and spacious.
Very friendly welcoming staff.
Clean and comfortable bed.
Very basic continental breakfast. Stale bread, no meats or cheeses,
basic cereal in boxes, juices running out and jugs being filled at table
with budget juice, not a good look!!.
Ideally, there would have been a loo seat cover in the bathroom.
although we found quite a bad stain on the mattress cover when we stripped the bed and the radiator really needs a good clean inside with a radiator brush, altogether the standard of cleaning was very high . we were impressed by how friendly the chambermaids were.

The fabric on the valance was falling down - the staples had pulled out. The cleaning ladies left a dirty wet cleaning towel draped over our suitcase & tea tray. We had to go to the storage closet ourselves to get an iron because it was too busy in the pub, there was no one available to help. The toilet seats didn't fit right and kept sliding all over the place which was uncomfortable.
Old fashioned room keys with the lock placed underneath the door handle were a bit fiddly and noisy.
Major drawback was fact that couldn't add cost of meals/drink to
room cost unlike most other places. Also last orders on Saturday was
11.00pm - could have been 11.30? Cooked breakfast could have been
included in overall price(I know continental was included though).
Wi-Fi ... a bit tricky so didn't bother used my phone instead.
Some very large dangly cobwebs hanging over the beds had to be removed
before we could get in! Otherwise very clean.
No complaints.
The lack of public transport information as it's not always possible
to have a car and taxis into Huddersfield can be expensive.
There was nothing we didn't like.
-It would be nice if they knew what if any local events were on/what to do/tourism
-Lamp shade was broken/comp shower gel ran out(attention to detail)
-A 3rd or thicker pillows.
The tiles in the shower room needed to been cleaned with something to get the mould removed and bulb in shower needed replacing.
Poor selection of Beer, lack of choice despite promoting "guest" beers! Maybe being picky as frothy lagers are not for me!!.
Breakfast was very limited if you got the complimentary continental and staff did not assist unless asked. Shower in room leaked all throughout the bathroom floor not designed very well !.
The towels provided could be softer.
nothing.
We had a power cut at breakfast time so we could not have toast or hot drinks. This was obviously not the hotel's fault!.
room showing some signs of wear
bathroom had some mould and extractor fan needs cleaning.
Continental breakfast was included in the cost but it would be better if
a cooked breakfast was included in the price.
Nothing.
Nothing.
Duvet could be a little thicker but most importantly turning right when
exiting the lodge is a problem. The road can be busy therefore traffic
measures need to be reviewed by the council.
All the lights flickered in our room for some reason. We didn't like small area we were put to have breakfast, everyone was on top of each other.
Nothing.
Noisy people above us. The fact that the lodge didn't know about our special request to arrive early and have a room available as we were going to a wedding.
Pipes (water or heating) banging and clattering throughout the night.
Some maintenance issues, bulbs gone, extraction fan not working, basin
plug missing. Cars blocked in by deliveries in the morning.
Not a moan but fry up should be first choice brecky. Not continental.
No complaints.
Room needed a little TLC, that is shower and toilet seat.
The wi-fi does not work if you do not have a uk mobile phone number so
the wi-fi is not free for all....very dissatisfied with this aspect.
Unfortunately another guest who was very drunk made our stay a nightmare
and when we tried to ring the night porter who we later found out was
the manager we could not get through to his mobile so had to put up with
noise outside room until 2:30 in the morning not good customer service.
Slight misunderstanding in ordering breakfast with owner/manager.
Continental breakfatst was not good value.
No complaints.
The room was too hot.
Cooked breakfast very poor, filtered coffee weak.
