Guests can rent a boat on Derwentwater, or enjoy a walk up Skiddaw Mountain, 10 minutes’ drive away. Guests can make use of the self-catering kitchen and dining room at YHA Keswick. A small shop is also available for guests. Wi-Fi access is available, along with luggage storage. The majority of rooms contain bunk beds.

The property was convenient and clean. The staff were all so helpful and friendly. The view along the park and river is beautiful. We loved it and would definitely suggest the place to others. We parked right along the road by the hostel. staff very relaxed and helpful.. room was spot on.. didn't use the café, self catering.. kitchen well equipped for our needs, fantastic value for money.. will be returning.. ideal location to the town :-).
kaikki arvostelut » Great situation for exploring Keswick town. Lots of great places to eat out nearby. Parking possible for unloading purposes (just ask for a blue parking disc at reception). Parking available nearby. Eco-friendly nature (although didn't find a compost bin in the kitchen to put my tea bag into). Lovely location near the river but also not far from centre of Keswick. Good pool table. The hostel is equipped with everything you might need. Rooms are clean, self-catering kitchen is well equipped and the drying room is very convenient. Very good value for money. Amazing views great location to the town and countryside.clean rooms with beds made up in advance on arrival.Good food and service.friendly staff.Good communal room. convenient position. everything is clean. like the green color in the hostel. helpful staff. there is everything, even a reading room!. Excellent family accommodation, although rather basic. Friendly staff, very good breakfast, nice on-site entertainment facilities. Rooms are a little bit small for 6 persons and they don't have enough wall sockets. Didn't sleep to well,from the noise of other guests going in and out of their rooms with the doors banging and walking passed the room alot,we were also near to the shower room and Toilet which may be the reason for a lot of noise activity. just a minor advice, hope there could be more plugs in the room. A bit pricey for a youth hostel, but good value in relation to other accommodation in Keswick. Wasn't the cheapest hostel I have stayed. £4.95 for breakfast that was cold and consisted of the cheapest ingredients they could find. Nothing to say. As there were no lifts, we had to hike up to the third floor, and it was exhausting!. A minor quibble - the tea bags were very poor quality!. Evening meal poor - pasta and sauce consisted of mainly pasta and not enough sauce. There could be another sink in the self catering kitchen. Not enough mugs in the kitchen. since the window cannot be opened big the smell in the room is really pungent. Not much room in dorms to keep kit when room is full. Our rooms were hot at night, making it difficult to sleep. Dissapointed that the kitchen was locked after 11pm. Was looking forward to a cup of tea on our return to hostel. Portions very small for cooked breakfast. The drying room is terrible. The condition is not turned on at all in the daytime. Also, the drying machine is so ineffective that I have to dry my clothes for four times and they are still wet. Nothing. I was given the heads from a pleasant chap from St Albans that a mental guy from Liverpool was the patient in the bed below me in room 306. After drifting off to sleep I was awoken by a heavy breathing creature who resembled Michael Myers from Halloween. Needless to say I won't be choosing the shared dorm option in future... Expensive compared to the yha in Grasmere. Staff there are a bit cold. Bad window view. We were placed in a room facing bins. It's ok if you close the curtain though. Room size were very small.

Important information to guests

Guests have access to the self-catering kitchen. The property needs apologies for any inconvenience caused. Please note that the property is undergoing extensive refurbishment following the flooding in 2016 to upgrade and improve the guests facilities. Works will continue until 2017 but will remain open throughout. Works include reconfiguring the ground floor social spaces to provide a new combined reception/café bar and dining with French doors opening over the river plus a new self-catering kitchen and social space with AV facilities. There is currently limited bike storage whilst refurbishment is being carried out. All guests must show a valid photo ID upon check-in. Driver’s license, passport, student ID or similarly recognised national identity cards are accepted. Please note that towels are not included in the room rate. Guests can hire them at the property or bring their own. Group bookings: All bookings for 17 people or more cannot be accepted by YHA. Please note this property does not charge an additional temporary membership fee. Discounts are not available for members of YHA (England and Wales) or IYHF as part of this booking.
