Just 3 miles from Lake Windermere, this hotel offers an award-winning breakfast menu with hot and cold options. It was originally an 18th-century coaching inn, and still retains original features from open fires to antique furniture. The Crown at High Newton has elegant rooms each with traditional furnishings and a tiled en suite bathroom. Each also features a TV, radio, and facilities for making tea and coffee. A range of drinks are available in the bar, with its old oak beams and open fireplace. Outdoor seating is available in the garden overlooking the Lakeland fells, so guests can drink outside in the warmer months. The Crown is a 10-minute drive from Junction 36 of the M6 motorway, and a 15-minute drive from Bowness. The Lakes Motor Museum and the Lake District Steamers are only 5 minutes’ drive away. Located in the Lake District, there are plenty of scenic walking and cycling routes in the surrounding area.

The owners and staff are very friendly and lovely people, while the place is a cosy Inn surrounded by nature with a great design/modern twist on the rooms. Food was also excellent, especially the sharing platter as a starter, we enjoyed every bite of it!. very enjoyable stay food was very good had dinner on both nights we stayed which was very good room was surprisingly large and modern would not hesitate to go there again crawford and his team obviously care about the job.

Really enjoyed our stay at the The Crown. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was lovely. In a great location for exploring Lake Windemere. Will definitely recommend to others. Made most welcome - thank you. We had a large, tastefully decorated, comfortable room with very nice en-suite and good breakfast in a quiet village with super countryside on the doorstep. The staff are particularly friendly and helpful. My room and en suite bathroom were spotless and there was masses of hot water. All staff including the owners were fantastic and very welcoming. First time to the Lake District and won't be the last. lovely old property.great hospitality, friendly hosts and staff. spacious rooms and good location to explore the lakes. Fantastic. Rooms were excellent. Food was superb and a great range of real ales. the food and the cozy atmosphere. locate at a small coutryside, a special experience. Restaurant is good. Nice friendly atmosphere and interesting decor. owners freindly and the bar had a live band on and presented a good astmosphere. The area can be a bit too quite if you don't exactly know it and we unfortunately found out every place in miles closed at 9pm on bank holiday, so some plans may be needed. It was awkward that I had no mobile signal (not the fault of the hotel) and that my TV was not able to access BBC channels. due to being busy didn't have offer of full menu, this would have been good if we had been informed before selecting our choice, but understand the reasons. no soaps/washing liquids in shower area and small amounts in basins. Breakfast a little expensive and would expect to be included within the tariff. Nothing. We had no problems. Some fixtures in bathroom cheap n cheerful. nothing. the taps on the shower were hard to control between hot and cold. room is small. room was very small, to hang your clothes. we booked room only, We always wanted breakfast, and there wasnt an option to add to our booking. we enquired what time breakfast was, in the morning arrived for breakfast, but were almost made to feel most uncomfortable when we asked for breakfast.
