My 2 nights at Manor Hotel were because of my fathers funeral, so I cannot really fill in other details, my room was comfortable, quiet and very clean, my daughter stayed for the second night and we were very comfortable. thank you, breakfast had good choices and the waitress was very friendly and cheery, (it was quite early) in the morning. Bed comfortable, better than we had at a chain hotel that claims a "good night's sleep" Very good breakfast served a friendly lady. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful in all aspects. It is a very pleasant traditional pub / inn. The bar and restaurant are excellent, and the evening meal likewise. Comfortable bed. I have visited the Manor Hotel before, the location is perfect, the rooms are of a high standard, but the best thing about this hotel is the staff, they can't do enough for you. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent for us. The room was fine and well equipped. Lots of tea and coffee and a kettle!. Friendly and very helpful staff, spotlessly clean room, lovely food and plenty of it! We shall be using this hotel again. The staff and Managers were very friendly and helpful. The room was well decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The room and the linen were clean. The breakfast was good value for money with a choice of starters including fruit juice and various cereals, a choice of main of either full English (very tasty) or continental followed by toast (made from "real" bread) and either tea or coffee. The staff were extremely obliging and happy to do anything asked of them. In the main the place was clean and the staff from bar to the reception and the person who looked after our room - they were all friendly. The room had some of the basic facilities and the bed was comfortable. Good value for money - for a couple. Easy location with car parking. Breakfast was good quality and staff were helpful. The hotel was not exceptional but I was happy to book for another night the following week. The disturbance caused by people running up and down the stairs past our room and the slamming of their room doors without consideration of ourselves in our room. Otherwise there was no problem with our stay. I would have liked more of a choice of buffet breakfast items (cereals, fruit, breads etc). The only item of cooked breakfast which I had was poached egg, which was a little overcooked. I can`t comment on other cooked breakfast items. The hotel is in an old building and the floors creak! We had to leave very early for the airport and were concerned that we disturbed other people. Me and my sister had a twin room above kitchen when we arrived in room greeted by food smells so opened window as really hot but due to road junction had to listen to noise of cars speeding up and down eventually going off to sleep was woken at 5am to the noise off experlair fans in kitchen buzzing away till 7am which was not good as had busy day ahead which ruined our stay not one to complain but felt paying £70 per night was to much. Nowhere to walk locally but only a short car drive to Gosport and ferry to Porstmouth. the hair dryer not working which i did not have time to report and a larger tv though i did not watch it myself. Hotel all mostly in working order ,something wrong with cold tap on sink basin. Hotel was OK but now ready for a make over. The saniflow toilet was a bit noisy and breakfast, although good for us, I think the chef was panicing as it got busy and told the girl not to take any more orders. He should stay calm and if people have to wait they have to wait... we were OK tho and enjoyed our stay. Beer in restaurant could be colder. No food not allowed in room. noisy extractor fan outside bedroom window. The step on the way into the hotel, fell over it!. Whilst the bathroom was clean and had a fairly new suite fitted it had a tendency to smell fusty. Also the bath appeared to leak as there was a pool of water on the floor each time it had been used. Overall the hotel could do with some TLC, but so could many hotels in this day and age. The television was too small. No easy access to plug point for charging iphone etc. No problems apart from the fact the hotel was tired. It was in need of refurbishment throughout, but in these financially stringent days I appreciate the difficulty. Tiny room and bathroom, fittings in bathroom bit stained and worse for wear. The landlord & landlady extremley rude.Cramped and hot bedroom as above the kitchen with noisy extraction fan. overpriced for what it was. The room was very hot. hotel rooms need to be updated, old fashion decore and cheap furniture. Being in room 1 near extractor fan from kitchen, going all night, then at 4o/c started up obviously when staff started to prepare breakfast, sounded like a jet engine starting up. The premises are up for sale and everything feels a little tired. Staff to be little more personable. This hotels interior is dated and in need of an urgent makeover. It was overpriced for the condition and location. Breakfast only started at 8am, but I needed to leave by 7am. Staff offered no option for anything else, or even leave me something to eat before I went. I could not detect the WiFi in my room. My room I stayed in needed a good hovering - lot of previous guests hair on carpet. Bathroom needed cleaning - other guests public hair on floor. Mould in bathroom. Door closers throughout tended to close doors loudly,especially at night.Couple of the staff(female)appeared very surly. The hotel is really a pub with rooms above it and the hotel part is in need of some attention to decor and attention to detail. We were three people booked into a family room but there were only sufficient provisions (towels, cups etc.) for two people. The welcome wasn't particularly warm and we were expected to pay up front - presumably because nobody was there for checkout. The whole place is shabby and needs some TLC and attention to customer service!. Cleaning in the dining room consisted of the receptionist wiping the tables with her hands before the next customers came in for breakfast.
