friendly. A comfortable hotel and good value. Restaurant has varied menu and all the staff were very helpful.breakfast in the conservatory. Comfortable room and bed. good location.

Hotel was similar to Travelodge etc. Mondern, and comfortable.The staff tried to be very helpful.The room was a good size. I appreciated the wi-fi facility and the the desk.very little.the fan supplied was broken. it was very cold in the rooms, although there was a heater, the room hadn't been warmed up prior to our stay. As i said before, the lack of air conditioning.Room was too hot. The single beds were not very comfortable and seemed to be very narrow but have stayed there about two and a half years ago in a double room and it was absolutely fine.Noisy people in the floor above us. Nowhere to hang Bath towels in the bathroom.No phone in room. Breakfast standard could be better. The amount of litter around the hotel. cigarettes etc made it seem scruffy and downmarket.it was very basic room. not overly comfortable and lacked a bit of cleanliness. Room was hot and stuffy during warm weather.Arrived at 6 pm on a winters night to find room window wide open and noheating on in room. Access stairway to rooms very cold. Fire dooroutside room disabled (Unit pulled off wall !) Single beds very small.Quilts very small too. No spare blankets available. Tv reception verypoor - only one channel with a a watchable picture. Table lamp wiringdodgy, lamp went off if you moved wire, no pat test. It was extremely overpriced and miles from anywhere. I am staying at the Hilton in leeds this weekend. Its #10 cheaper and I get Central location in Leeds, breakfast, use of gym and a newspaper included in the price - #50. Having seen that New Country Inns are no different than the usual 'express' hotel fodder, I fail to see why they are charging a higher premium.The room that we booked had several problems. The curtains were not secured correctly and so when closing they slide straight across to the other side of the window and end corners hung loose. There were cobwebs along the ceiling and walls areas. The rug at the foot of the bed was stained very badly. The bed spread had several burn holes and the replacement was the same. The bathroom door was in n. I thought the food in the restaurant was of very poor quality. The bathroom in first room I booked into smelt strongly of urine. I was given a different room which was OK. Reception was impersonal. Demand for advance payment could have been less brusque. In restaurant, there was no explanation of self-ordering system. There were long queues to order food. The room was dirty and the bed uncomfartable. The quality of the bedding and pillows was poor and the room and a strong smell in it which i could not determine what it was. I decide to leave the hotel at 1am as i couldnt stay in the room any longer after finding the toilet used and not by myself. Someone had urinated in the toilet and it had not been flushed.
