Nestled in the pretty Gloucestershire village of Coln St Aldwyns, this beautiful country inn offers a garden overlooking meadows and elegant, individually designed rooms with modern amenities. Great price when booked through letsbookhotel.com. And substantial breakfast included in price (lovely Dorset Cereals and soft creamy scrambled eggs) Dinner menu simple but also simple pricing of £10 for most mains and £5 each for starter and dessert. Chicken cooked on spitroast in dining room between 6 and 7p.M. and chocolate tart so dense and rich you will want the recipe! Young staff all friendly and eager to please which makes for a relaxing freindly atmosphere in a tradition country pub-ho.

Lovely area to walk around in with a local shop and another village in walking distance with a great pub. Fantastic country inn with a modern boutique feel, food was excellent and well presented The staff were attentive but discreet. The menu is limited but that's a good thing as you know it's fresh. Food was excellent, room very comfortable and value for money at £69 B&B (via letsbookhotel.com), however I think it's pushing it at the standard rate of £110. WiFi good in the room (no 7) and restaurant. It was a country setting very pretty but the room small and above the outside garden - very noisy at night. Great location. There's no mobile phone reception although I received some texts while staying. There is a step down into en suite bathroom of bedroom 5 which was pointed out to us when we arrived and although I didn't feel it was a problem then, I was super cautious when using loo in the night just in case I tripped. A couple of the staff were a bit abrupt at times and breakfast service on one of the days was very poor (although the food was good). I little noise from adjoining rooms. Nothing to fault. The fact that the premises is the only drinking establishment in the village means that it attracts more than the accommodation guests and presents particular challenges late in the evening when the noise levels can be disturbing for those seeking to sleep. Unfinished details in rooms, are aware that the owners are dealing with these, Breakfast for most of the party was good but for one it was barely acceptable,. Room was meant to be a twin but was still made up as a double although this was corrected later. Bill was made up incorrectly but was corrected quickly. Menu was limited and quality not up to the standard I'd expect for for the image they were portraying. Plus they ran out of the daily special requested. I was initially informed that the requested room was not available even though it was booked and card details taken and was only advised that it was later when I complained. Nothing. Zero. incorrect bill when checking out. Nothing. no cons. The food menu is limited but the quality of the food we had was lovely. No Mobile Signal for O2 or Orange (EE) for at least a mile all round. The food was not that food and breakfast very basic. £120 per night for a room with no shower is boardering on embarrassing.
