Less than 5 minutes’ walk from Clacton’s Victorian pier and sandy beach, The Laxfield Hotel has an on-site bar with a widescreen TV and a dartboard. Free private parking is provided and bird watching can be enjoyed less than 10 minutes’ drive away in Holland Haven Country Park. Clacton-on-Sea Rail Station can be reached after a 10-minute walk through the town centre. Colchester’s historic town centre is a 35-minute drive from The Laxfield. Free Wi-Fi access, a TV with a DVD player, a wash basin and tea and coffee making facilities are provided in each neutrally decorated room. All rooms have a shared bathroom and some have lovely sea views. Full English breakfasts are served along with a choice of cereal and juices. Packed lunches can be arranged and snacks are available at the bar during the evening.

Staff was truly welcoming, and you felt at easy to come and go as you please. Owners were in the process of re-decoration, and I look forward to going again next year to see the amazing changes. Very friendly and helpful owners and staff good breakfast easy parking can see new owners are working very hard to bring this hotel up to date nice size double rooms with seaview. The staff and other regular visitors made us all very welcome and comfortable. Really friendly atmosphere and excellent value for money.
