The rooms were lovely, bespoke & the bed linen was great. Great large well appointed bathrooms too. I appreciated the fact that loads of towels and toiletries were provided although we were both single occupancy in double rooms, often you dont get very much as a single traveller!! The restaurant/bar area of the hotel was lovely, had a warm & friendly feel but also stylish and a bit different from all the big chains! Fabulous evening menu too. We were spoilt with free champers on arrival & a rose with dinner!! The room wasn't huge, but was lovely, the bed was sooooo comfortable!! All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and accommodating! The kitchen and food was also amazing. They were really lovely and helpful making sure my vegetarian boyfriend had something which he really enjoyed! We had such . The hotel was a pleasant surprise and more designer that I expected, my room had a queens size bed in the middle of the room and was total luxury with soft quilts and lots of pillows to choose from. Breakfast was your basic continental, which is fine and the waitress Beth could not do enough to look after me.. it was like I was in the privacy of Beth’s home and she was looking after me. I would visit again. We stayed in one of the superior suites after attending a wedding at Parley Manor and the bed was the most comfortable I have ever experienced. We had a fabulous nights sleep. Good value for money with a full English breakfast included and cheaper overall than the premier inn nearby. The Manor was lovely. The staff very helpful and friendly. My daughter was getting married and I booked the bridal suite for us so we and the bridesmaids could get ready. It was absolutely ideal. We loved it and would definitely recommend it. Thank you. The bedroom was spacious and extremely comfortable, lovely view from the window. Being able to open the window was a bonus as a lot of heat came from the bathroom. Excellent shower. The individuality and attention to detail of an independent hotel rather than the bland, duplicated chains. Luxurious accommodation and superb value for money. The room decor was lovely, the staff seemed friendly when we were there but turned out to be unprofessional when asked as to why our room was painted whilst we were out. Nothing. The entertainment on Friday evening was a little bit 'blackpool hotel' and didnt really seem to be in keeping with the quality feel of the hotel. The inclusive continental breakfast was a bit measley & elements of it were not very fresh. (the fruit salad tasted a bit fizzy on the first morning!) However I did see other guests having the priced cooked breakfasts which did look good. Also the coffee was of very good quality. There was a few little things in the room that were a little broken, like the shower screen door, bathroom lock and the cupboard but it kinda added to the quirky charm of the place and wasn't enough to taint the stay. If you were looking for something to moan about you could have moaned, but why would you when everything else was so wonderful!. Its was all very good. The only things I can say to be picky is that the tray that the tea and coffee facilities were shabby and did not compliment the luxury of the room and in the bathroom the rough wood on the sides of the sink unfortunately made the marble bathroom less classy. This is really nitpicking. The fans in the dining room made it feel pretty chilly, even though we asked to sit in a warm part of the restaurant but the food made up for it, especially the clam chowder!. we had the phantom room which was lovely,let down by the lack of a valance sheet covering stains on the bed base.towel rail was very very hot. Breakfast waiting staff hard to find when we wanted more coffee. some staff didn't really want to be there. Nothing. Nothing to record all good. nothing at all. No light bulbs in bedside lamps, as on order waiting delivery. Cold bedroom until the radiator was bled, which took ages for someone to come. If staying on the 1st floor (above restaurant area) you constantly hear a door downstairs bang as it shuts, can be quite irritating!. It is too far from the town centre, not really walking distance to the amenities of Abbey, shops, etc. that make a visit more enjoyable -- especially for someone arriving by train in the middle of the night. Nothing. Buffet Breakfast needs a bit of attention,small spoons and plates were not available. Also bedroom doors need small handles onto close rather than letting slam shut as annoying when other people arriving leaving. small menu either steaks or pizza/pasta no carvery. Unfortunately the basin and shower didn't provide any cold water. There was a slight mess up with my bill but staff were helpful and dealt with situation well. bathroom dark. Uncomfortable bed settee Shower too hot. Rooms were still a little basic - could do with simple things like a box of tissues!. I felt there were a few issues that really let the hotel down. No one at reception on arrival or leaving, no help with bags or information about hotel. Some maintenance issues let the hotel down, eg. A strobing light in the corridor, curtain tie backs held with safety pins, bathroom lacked light. The fact our room was painted in the middle of our stay. Withput notice or teason. By people who weren't staff either. Whilst our valuables were in there. Made a two complaints an one phone call and have heard nothing back. Very disappointed. Very unprofessional. Everything. The star rating is definitely way out.
