Staff were excellent, room was nice and had a proper coffee machine
and a turndown service before we retired to bed. Food in the pub
restaurant was reasonable and very good, hence, if wanting to eat
there u need to make a reservation as they were full, people travel
from miles away to eat here.
The accommodation was very comfortable and modern. It was separate to the Inn which meant it was nice and quiet.
The Inn itself was perfect, lots of nooks and crannies, stone walls and a blazing fire. Good choice of food for both dinner and breakfast.kaikki arvostelut »
The staff were excellent from arriving. Nothing was an issue. Bar staff excellent, food outstanding, accommodation exceeded my expectations. Cooked breakfast is a must, if you want to start the day right. A must stay if you are in the area.
Very nice, clean and cozy old english coutry style inn with excellent
food. The rooms are in a seperate building - a bit motel style, but
very comfortable and if you need fresh air, you can just step in front
of the door.
Gorgeous room, everything spotless and great quality furniture and fittings. Staff were helpful and friendly. Pub is lovely, cosy with an open fire. Food to a good standard, breakfast was great, plenty of tea!.
I liked the new structure with nice clean guest rooms and easy access the the pub area. The food is good and the owners work hard to please guests. Its just a nice place to stay and we liked the location.
Everything at the Old House at Home is perfect. It's a must to dine there and their Herb Crusted Lamb rack is a must. The staff are very friendly and obliging nothing is a bother to them.
Excellent guest house. Attached pub was a classic old English decor, rooms were newer and more modern, very comfortable. Good breakfast. Easy drive (must see!) to Castle Combe village.
Quality of design and furnishings,
Superb Kitchen with 5 star menu
Family owned and run business to the highest standard and tradition. Provincial England at its best!.
Room was high specification and in excellent condition. Quality of dinner was outstanding. Staff very friendly and went out of their way to respond to requests.
Rooms were clean...restaurant was EXCELLENT!!! great menu with a wide variety...for a small free house has a wonderful buffet breakfast with cooked options.
just a lovely place to stay the staff was as friendly as you would wish comfortable accomodation food was really good would definately
stay there again.
Very pleasant room. The extras such as the coffee machine make all the difference. Accommodating proprietors gave a warm welcome and very good breakfast.
Everything was fantastic! Staff were friendly & helpful, room was great, nice & comfortable, food was very tasty.
Food was fabulous in the restaurant, as was the ambience. Love the fact the only light came from candles and open fire!.

The bathroom was gorgeous.

Almost everthing.
Very Friendly.
Everything.
The room was nicely decorated, the bed very comfortable. The owner was very concerned about the knocking noise that occurred in our room during our stay and hopefully they can find the cause as it was a very irritating sound. Breakfast was nice.
Good location, the hotel and the young guy at the reception was really helpful.
The room was very clean and with a nice design.
Room was new , modern & well equipped with nice decor. Bit dark coz no window at rear of the unit.
Comfortable Rooms &
Good Restaurant with
friendly service.
Food was great and waiting service was attentive.
Food is good.
Having to check out we were truly spoilt. Thankyou team , especially mr
and mrs Always for your hospitality and Perl las cheese yum yum.
Could not find a fault.
Nothing.
Nothing.
No criticism.
Located on a country through road so was a little bit noisy with the windows open on a hot night.
Nothing....we are actually staying there again at present!!.
There wasn't anything we didn't like.
There was nothing we didn't like but the room was a little small for a couple and there was a lack of seating in room.
a slightly frosty welcome
being able to hear people's conversation in next door room.
Nothing.
There was no full length mirror, a minor point which didn't really detract from a great stay.
... parking very tight - and would have been nice to be in inn itself too ...
We were in the last room and we had no wi-fi. As the 3G is also not available due to reception on O2 - we couldn't check or mails or download film that we were hoping to do - disappointing.
Nothing to report.
Meals in bar were expensive for food served in bar ,.
Nothing!.
The bed was pretty small, both length and width but was otherwise comfortable!.
Nothing to dislike.
Nothing.
We thought that we would be closer to Castle Combe village.
It was a little slapdash.
The road, Even though it is a small village there is a fast road outside the rooms. I was woken at 5 by commuters heading to the M4.
Being right on the road so you could not open the windows. The very strong chlorine smell in the bathroom. The irritating knocking noise that occurred at intervals throughout the afternoon and evening and again early the next morning hence we couldn't wait to leave. I think £145 a night to be overpriced.
The staff in the restaurant at dinner was quite bad. We had to wait almost an hour for the food to arrive, although people around us that came later were getting their orders, so I assume they were discriminating between tourists and regulars.
Staff were not friendly, engaging or appearing interested in their customers. Think it was rated 4 Star????
Breakfast was Ok but again service was slack. Proprietor?/Person on duty was more interested in talking to his mates at another table rather than looking after guests. Needs a management makeover. Perhaps we struck a bad day or not usual staff????? may be OK for a pub meal but not to stay & eat.
A very hot night so needed windows open and noise from the road was intrusive. Rooms are in a modern block and whilst nice lack a little character to my taste.
No ventilation in room or in bar.Room unbearably hot ,only two windows at front opening onto main road (noise). No opening windows in bar had to sit outside accom to eat.No fans available(had to borrow the chef's kitchen fan). The wet room stays wet all night and towels don't dry.Overall not good value for money.
the room we stayed in was very disappointing, we'd been led to believe this was a 5 star destination. Our room was outside, it was a cabin, so you were sleeping on the ground floor ( not happy) it was unwelcoming, boiling hot, no idea where rooms in ad are!!.
