Very friendly owners. Gave us a jug of fresh milk as soon as we arrived as we wanted a cup of tea in our room (even though the usual portions of milk were provided). They also kindly chilled the bottle of champagne that we had brought for a little celebration, and provided us with champagne glasses. Very, very comfortable beds and clean, modern bathrooms. Both Elizabeth and Tim were very helpful, even though we had a twin room and two very big dogs to accommodate!!! They provided dog chews, maps for walking, and a wonderful choice of local produce for breakfast!!
The room was very clean and comfortable, but possibly a little tight on space for two and two dogs; more to do with us than the Manse!
The short walk from town centre, and the train station made it perfect for us.
Elizabeth and Tim were great hosts. They provided a wonderful ambience and great extras in the room like a sewing kit and first aid kit. They were there with help in finding places we wanted to visit and suggestions. Our two days with them were delicious. Beautiful neighborhood and lovely house.
The Old Manse was very clean and comfortable . The staff were friendly , fresh milk was offered in a flask , which was a nice touch , the crowning glory however , was the breakfast , which was plentiful and perfectly cooked . Nothing was too much trouble and we will return if in the area .
Really nice couple, the room was extremely clean and comfortable. The Manse has a very homely feel and I was made extremely welcome. The owners were chatty and couldn't do enough for me. I wouldn't hesitate to return to the Manse whether on business of for a weekend break in Buxton.
Tim and Elizabeth do not know how to say no! What a charming and kind couple. A wonderful haven with every home comfort and a fantastic breakfast as well!

A real home-from-home. Very friendly. located in a quiet side road with unrestricted on-road parking if their car park is full. Very close to the town centre and amenities. Excellent breakfast. Good free WiFi in bedrooms.
The warm friendly welcome on arrival, a beautitful room with all the extra's and an excellent selection on the breakfast menu. The best guest house we have stayed at and would recommended to other visitors to Buxton.
Friendly welcome, nice clean room, everything to a high standard, great breakfast with a good choice. Located in a quiet street but not far from town centre (easy walk). Several pubs and restaurants nearby.
Excellent attention to detail, locally sourced and home made food. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly owners. The room and ensuite were both spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable.
The location is good, about ten minutes walk from the centre of town. Breakfast was plentiful and very good. The room was quiet. It is located in a quiet street, and parking was fine.

From start to finish our stay was most enjoyable. We left on the Monday morning with an excellent packed lunch whih was great value for money.

shower was small. it was cold for may so I would have appreciated more warmth in bedroom.
Difficult to haul our heavy suitcases up two flights of steep stairs. (The host did offer to take our bags up for us but, as we were younger than her, we didn't feel comfortable making her do that for us).

The lack of air conditioning (30 degrees!!!!!!!) and lift (kind of 50 steps to climb each time you go to the room, for an 69 years old is far too much!!!).
