Situated in the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed in the Northumberland countryside, Castle Vale House is a quiet Victorian country house with free parking and free Wi-Fi.
Each room at Castle Vale House boasts tea and coffee making facilities, a flat-screen TV with a DVD player, and an en suite bathroom. Most rooms also offer views of the River Tweed, the garden, and the Stephenson Viaduct.
A hearty breakfast is served daily and it includes homemade jams, freshly baked bread, and yoghurt.
Berwick railway station is 100 metres from the B&B and Magdalene Fields Golf Club is 4 minutes’ drive away. The coast is 15 minutes’ walk from the property and Edinburgh city centre can be reached in an hour’s drive.

Very warm welcome from the owner who offered me tea on arrival and carried my bag to the room. Nice room with comfy bed and hot shower, very nice breakfast with views down the river. 2 mins walk from the satation if arriving by train. I would be very happy to stay again.
The owner was very freindly and most helpful in explaining the local area.
The locaction was great. Our room looked straight out onto the rail bridge and river. Stunning. The double glazing on the windows made the room very quiet. Close proximity to the town centre.kaikki arvostelut »
Margaret was close and kind, very attentive and helpful. We had the greatest views of all the house and Berwick. The room was comfy, clean and the bathroom was big enough. Family atmosphere, like being at home.

> Excellent English breakfast.
> Convenient walking distance to town centre.
> Warm welcome.
Good location and breakfast.
Relaxed and Friendly.
Nothing to dislike :).
As others have said the wifi signal upstairs was a bit hit and miss I think due to the very thick walls of the old house. It was fine downstairs however. The bed was very soft however this may suit some.
Having breakfast in the same table with other guests was a bit odd at the beginning, but later on, we ended up chatting like friends.
Nothing- wifi did not work in room but we were pre warned and it worked fine downstairs in lounge.
If you get to the station you have to do an illegal turn to get to
Castle Vale. Look for the sign in the trees as a guide.
Leaving.
Nothing.
wi-fi connection not very good.
The location of signs makes it tricky to find, considering that it is so conveniently located.
small TV
no announced DVD player.
nothng.

nothing.
Hotel VERY difficult to find even with good SATNAV the hotel is hidden down a dead end lane and the hotel sign is hidden by tree branches.
Nothing.
Pictures and religious items and pictures of the pope everywhere.
some parts of the house were very shabby and needed A lick of paint, the ceiling in the dining room was only half painted.
> It was an extremely windy, wet and cold evening and the heating in my room on arrival was not on and was at best only slightly warm during my stay.
Needs de-cluttering and re-decorating throughout.
Nothing.
