  Excellent location which would be extremely difficult to beat. Even staying in the old town (Citta Vecchia) of Locarno is not as convenient as Hotel Rio Garni. I needed an early start before breakfast was served and was told I could get something from the kitchen if I liked! I was also offered a cup of coffee as I was going out the door at 6am.   Everything!!!! We were treated like family from beginning to end, this was such a delightful stay. The rooms were beautiful and while the WCs and bathing facilities were on the hall, with only four rooms per floor, it simply felt like you were staying I someone's home. Highly recommend paying the extra for the lakeside view.   The main advantage is the location - right by the beautiful Vogorno lake. Eating breakfast or dinner on the terrace overlooking the lake was wonderful. Most of the staff are very nice and helpful. The restaurant is good and serves great pizzas in decent prices. The rooms are clean and basic. Lake view rooms really are just that with panoramic views Overlooking the lake. Staff were friendly and all in all for the price a great place.
