It located just a few minutes with the tram to the center and the main train station, also perfectly doable distance for walking to the main tourist attractions. Tram line 6 stop is just in a minute walking. You can here trams passing by till 2 am, but it didn't stop me from sleeping, Actually, it was very convenient for me, since tram 6 goes directly to the Congress center at Messeplatz.

  I highly recomend staying with the Amparo guest house. The staff is incredible, caring and will make sure your stay is as perfect as possible. We arrived quite late in the evening and only stayed for one night due to our flight leaving the next day. Upon arrival we were tired and hungry. It had everything you could possibly need and more. - I highly recommend staying at Amparo's, the hosts were really friendly and helpful providing good info on what to do and how to get around Basel. There are only two rooms sharing one bathroom and I was lucky enough to have the whole apartment to myself for a couple of days.
