Great location- one could spend the weekend visiting museums, shopping and dining and never need to walk more than 5 minutes from the hotel! The staff was helpful and the rooms and facilities very clean. Super value. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Basel. Everything! To start with, probably no hotel in Basel is more conveniently located than this one! Also, upon arrival I was given a free card by the receptionist which allowed me to use public transport in and around Basel free of charge throughout my stay there!.
kaikki arvostelut » Its position on Barfusserplatz makes it centre for all travels around town. Nearly all tram routes pass by the door,for which you get a free travel pass issued by hotel. Hotel is clean with polished floors Price is economic considering its Switzerland. Staff were friendly; location was perfect; price was decent for Basel; the complimentary extras were really quite generous; the room was luxurious and comfortable - especially for "economy"; top 3 buffet breakfast. Seriously, the breakfast was great. Bright, clean, simple, and quiet room overlooking the Platz. The free tram card was a wonderful surprise. The cafe and terrasse at the entrance had delicious open-faced sandwiches and was a perfect spot to relax. The strassenbahns in front of the hotel, the shopping stores, and the many pubs and Restaurants! There is definately much to do and see in Basel! What a great City:). The hotel was very, very clean, quiet, felt safe, and the staff friendly. The central location was excellent!. Staff were very efficient especially as it is mainly a restaurent enviroment. A restaurant and kitchens are on floors below,making staff voice noice to be heard in rooms.It does go quiet after 11.00pm.Shared bathrooms,showers,toilet on each floor level,but washbasin in each bedroom.On any return I would automatically choose this one again. Genuinely have nothing bad to say about this place. There is nothing to complain about. The rooms overlooking the square outside can be noisy, especially during a festival but this is outside the control of the hotel and should be expected in such a central location. Stairs (no elevator). The old-fashioned furniture. Lots of street noise so bring earplugs. No breakfast. Room was up 3 flights of stairs with no lift. This is really a restaurant with rooms above. very basic facilities no lift. it was a little loud. essenthial room. Lots of tobacco in use. Hard to find from street numbers. No 84 is nowhere near no. 83. No elevator. Breakfast not included. No WiFi. Noisy cooks 1 floor below. Noisy refrigerators in stairs. Rooms are located on 3rd floor without lift. having to climb so many flights of steps to get to my room. Not sure the hotel management is customer oriented.
