Pensión Altair is located in San Sebastián’s Gros district, 250 metres from Zurriola Beach and the Kursaal Convention Centre. It offers free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV in each room. All rooms at the Altair Pensión have central heating, a private bathroom and a work desk. Some rooms have large windows with Gothic arches. San Sebastián is well-known for its food and there is a variety of excellent tapas restaurants in the old town, which is 10 minutes’ walk away from Pensión Altair. The Altair is just 300 metres from the Church of San Ignacio. Mount Urgull, with its 12-metre statue of Jesus Christ, can be reached in 15 minutes on foot.

Great place. 5 min walk to kursal palace and 10 min to bretxa market. The difference between a holiday inn room and this one is the name of the hotel and the size of the room (this one is smaller). Modern and lovely design of the room. Spotless. Very helpful staff. I would Absolutely repeat this one. Nice room with large closet with shelves to lay out packed items. There was a large window.that over looked the street. The window could be opened to let in fresh air. Staff were very helpful and informative about the city and area. Underground.parking was available a few blokes away.
kaikki arvostelut » Good location in 15 minutes walk from ss old town, in Gros, which itself is a very nice part of the city, too. Close to the beach and main Gros' bars, good value for the money they are asking. The first two nights were excellent in that we were at the back of the property which allowed for a quiet rest and the ability to hang a small bit of laundry outside our window to dry. Excellent value for money. Very nice rooms, lovely staff and a great location in the new town and just a short, pleasant walk to the beach or the old town. Will stat there again. Outstanding service from Juan and Ricardo. Excellent spacious accommodiation. Clean and close to the old town. Take a walk to the statue of Christ overlooking the main beach. Great service by the guy on reception - very friendly and helpful. The appt. was in a good location, close to the old quarter, and very modern. Apartment style, 5 min walk to the closest beach, 40 min walk to la concha. Everything is close, and Senra was a good place to eat!. Apartment building with individual rooms at central location close to the bay and shops. Very friendly staff, nice rooms. the most amazing people who worked on reception. so helpful and nice. and the wonderful lady who cleaned the rooms. Comfortable room and the manager was very friendly and helpful. City was beautiful (from what little I saw). Great location, excellent staff, very clean well presented room with enough room to store a Tandem!. Very clean and great staff. We were upgraded to an apartment on arrival and it was fabulous. Staff were great! Room was nicely appointed though not much room for my large suitcase. Great and friendly staff. Very comfortable beds. Clean and nice rooms. Ss was very rainy in early April but its not about Altair :). Our third night was spent in a nice room at the front of the property which unfortunately exposed us to loud noises for most of the night.(ie: garbage pickup & party goers). Parking is an issue (like most cities) and we had to park a little way away, but again, the receptionist was very helpful to direct us to the best place (which was very cheap for a 24 parking spot). Not really the hotels fault, but parking is nigh on impossible (this was a Saturday/Sunday stay). Also got no sleep on the Saturday night since the rest of San Sebastian appeared set on partying all night (shouting, singing, screaming, explosions etc.). It would have been good to have a fan in the room as it was quite hot. One long pillow wasn't comfortable. It's better with normal size pillows instead of one long one. Since its quite centered, it's a bit noisy at nights. No air conditioning so had to leave the window open. Would recommend to bring ear plugs. Very noisy location. Hard to sleep due to noise. We arrived at 16:30 hrs and the doors were locked and no one answered the buzzer at the entrance. We waited for 30min just hoping someone would show up. Eventually someone did and everything was fine after that. Parking is 12 euro per day and is not close to the hotel at all. A real pain for us with lots of luggage and bikes.
