We had no problems parking-and ended up seeing the hotel as soon as we
emerged from the garage-perfect! It's right next to the police
station, so very quiet and safe (not that other parts of the city
aren't). It was a very short walk to the cathedral and the city was

it was clean, nicely designed , bright, warm, open and friendly , just around the corner from the cathedral, but with ready access to taxis too. the staff , Diego and the young woman (whose name I didn't get) were exceptionally friendly and helpful ~~ in short a delightful place !!

We stayed for 10 nights, the hotel is on the edge of town , but everywhere is within easy reach. The Patron and his team were all very friendly and eager to please, we felt very welcome and looked well looked after.
A Guarda has the feel of old Spain, lots of friendly polite people, fresh local food and produce, and you feel welcome where ever you go. We stayed during the fiesta's and WOW the amount of people was amazing, but such a friendly atmosphere !

The staff is extremely friendly and helpfull, especially Candy. The location is amazing. We booked a room with sea view which is definitely worth the money. Lovely breakfast buffee and even in the evening they prepared whatever we fancied. At times it didn't feel like being in a hotel but to stay with friends. -

Delightful converted monastery. While the rooms were basic the building and its gardens were fabulous - we had our picnic lunch in the cloister gardens. O Remanso dos Patos is a little gem of a hotel, situated in the truly beautiful Ribeira Sacra region. The hotel is full of character, and the restaurant is a delight. There is a lovely little swimming pool which is ideal for cooling off after a day's sightseeing- especially welcome as we arrived during a heat wave! Natasha, Antony and the rest of their staff were very kind and helpful.
