  I have stayed at hotel Don Candido before, and I have enjoyed the friendly and courteous staff that thankfully understands enough English when my meager Spanish skills prevent effective communication. The Hotel location is in a quiet neighborhood on a hill. It is about a 20 min downhill walk to Playa Martianez with many restaurants and shops along the way. - The staff is friendly, courteous and efficient. The room was spacious and had a nice balcony facing the picturesque neighborhood and provided a perfect view of fireworks during the evening. The hotel is very attractive and well decorated with objects of art and charming furnishings throughout. The patio area to the pool and dining areas was well landscaped. The breakfast is convenient.
