Retiro Park is across the street, the Prado is 5 blocks away and you can walk to Plaza Mayor in 20 minutes.   The location is great, near metro, main train station (Atocha) and lots of eating places. The outside looks old but the inside is newly renovated. The rooms are big, comfortable, clean and warm. Also because of this bars, there are lots of people on the street. So when you are coming to your apartment at night, you feel safd because of the crowd. So far i really enjoyed my stay in this apartment.

  The location was right down in the city and close to many sights. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the building was of the old architecture, which was charming. The rooms had a television, phone and plenty of bath linens. Jimmy and his staff were always very helpful. We would recommend Hostal Sardinero to anyone wanting to stay right in the heart of Madrid. - Superb location in beautiful side-street within easy walking distance of all the major sights. It was lovely to feel that we were in the heart of Madrid. The staff were very helpful and friendly and gave us a warm welcome even though we arrived very late after a delayed flight. Room very comfortable. There was some noise on Friday and Saturday nights from people in the street but no traffic noise.
