  The room was minimalistic (in the design sense) and very nice. It also was very clean.   The hotel is in a quiet street so there's no problem getting to sleep at night or having a lie in in the morning. Only a 10 minute walk to the bars, clubs and restaurants of Barri Gotic and la Rambla and there's metro stop Arc de Triomf 2 minutes away so it's easy to go out, safe to walk home at night and in close proximity to a beautiful park and... mitä ihmiset sanovat » the beach. We took a superior room so we had a small outdoor conservatory that was simply luxurious and the high-tech shower for two was great. Impec - We were happily surprised. It is a low profile hotel. No grand entrance, but home like. The room was spacious, clean, newly styled, comfortable with a wonderful balcony view of the city. The hotel is about a block away from a beautiful archway and walkway, not covered on the bus tours. The neigherhood is safe and there is life going on up until 2:00 a.m., but it does not disturb the guests. We loved it. This hotel can accomodate those with who walk with a cane/walker.   Excellent location close to the city center and major attractions, about 20 minutes of walking to Placa de Catalunya or 3 minutes by metro ( red line metro station Marina is close by). Very attentive and friendly staff, helps with all the major questions.   The receptionists were very kind and friendly, I felt immediately like at home so my staying was exactly as I would that it be, relax in a quite place; Hostal Drassanes is in a good spot, not on a big traffic road, near to shopping for whatever you need, it's a very clean place with elevator, air conditioner, tv, wi-fi, bathroom in room. I could have stayed at the renaissance which was 9 times the price but why bother as I never use the facilities

  Pensio 2000 was a real find. Help yourself tea/coffee/cakes and water, all gratis. Even had lovely white dressing gowns provided. An international crossroad location with great mix of people too! No parking or lift but worth the effort. Great value for money but shame it rained! - Location of the hotel is excellent. Close to a metro station and in the middle of Las Ramblas and El Borne. In winter, el borne is a better place to be close rather than since la rambla. The staff has made really nice improvements and facilities in the hotel, that's nice. But some of the stuff like towels and sheets are really too old.

  The location is superb, just off La Ramblas. The hotel staff were excellent, very friendly and able to answer any questions we had. The rooms are simple but spotlessly clean. We were at the front of the hotel, so we had a small balcony overlooking the street. There is a lift, essential for people like me who have difficulty with stairs.
