  Great hotel in a nice and beautiful small Rioja village. The staff was really helpful and engaged (even though Spanish is the only tool of communication, but hey, we're in Spain, right?), our room was beautiful, the dinner at Los Calaos restaurant is definitely not to be missed. The hotel had a spacious lobby in the basement, including coffee machine, wine cool - Loved this hotel! It's a total gem. Highly recommended! The new space is designed beautifully, blending modern design with the medieval setting, and a great value. The room was unique, very large, and super clean. Briones is a spectacular town -- picturesque with so much history and so few tourists -- and a great base to explore Rioja from. Breakfast at the hotel's nearby restaurant was great.
