Situated on a hill overlooking the Indian Ocean, Whales Way Ocean Retreat offers luxury accommodation overlooking the sea and Outeniqua Mountains. - very friendly staff - excellent breakfast with amazing view on the ocean (you can even see dolphins from the terrace) - room was very clean and with a nice view on the ocean - perfect place to just relax, spend time at the beach or do some of the activities offered in wilderness. Awesome location right next to the sea. Everything like the rooms and the breakfast were done with an eye for details. You really felt, that the owner himself, cares for his guests.

Knysna is 38 km from Whales Way Ocean Retreat, while Mossel Bay is 49 km away.

Travelling information

Travelling from George / Mossel Bay on the N2 towards Knysna: Stay on the N2, passing the turn-off to Wilderness on your left. Cross the Touw River and continue driving for about 3 km. Turn right at the Wilderness Beach Hotel. Turn left at the small roundabout behind the Caltex garage and follow the signs to Whale’s Way. We are on 6th Avenue (‘Sesdelaan’). Travelling from Knysna / Port Elizabeth on the N2: After passing the sign for Wilderness continue driving for 3km, turning left at the Caltex garage adjacent to the Wilderness Beach Hotel. Turn left at the small roundabout and follow the signs to Whale’s Way. We are on 6th Avenue (‘Sesdelaan’).
