  We stayed in the basement Studio flat which was excellent and suited us. The location of Kalkmarkt is very good next to a canal and only a short walk to restaurants, the City Center and Central railway station. And the house is very home feel with a kitchen. City people likes me enjoy a lot in this kind of town house. Besides, couple can enjoy simple cooking if you have been tired to eat outside during a long vacation. The flat is simple and clean as well. Absolutely recommended!

  I certainly recommend this place as an excellent base for exploring the city of Amsterdam, whilst being able to retreat to a nice peaceful haven away from the hustle and bustle. I emailed Rene before our trip and he gave us some excellent advice regarding transport to the boat and how to get about during our stay. The weather was so cold and awfull for our trip, we spent a lot of time on the boat, it was warm, there were hundreds of good DVDs so we watched loads, and fed the swans, and ducks through the open window! The continental breakfasts were great,I could go on and on but suffice to say exellent value for money in every w
