  My husband and I spent 5 days at the Datai. I've stayed in many hotels over the years but I can honestly say, that I enjoyed my stay at the Datai more than any other hotel I've ever stayed in. I felt a sense of peace being close to nature and the sea. All the staff were wonderful and couldnt do enough to make our stay comfortable.   Our hosts, Mr. Yusuf and Ms. Hamida were super-friendly and helpful. Among 10 years of traveling around the world, they were perhaps the kindest hosts we've ever met.   We liked everything about this hotel and Langkawi! They let us check in early which was very good after spending the previous night in KLIA airport. The staff were friendly and helped book tours and the transfers. The beach is 15 minutes walking from the hotel, but is very nice since this is the private beach of Berjaya resort. It's our favourite hotel in Langkawi.
