  Spa Hotel Alpina Hida was great! Everything about the hotel was spot on. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were some of the best we had while in Japan, and the Spa was an amazing experience one should not miss!   The room was a good size for the 2 of us.The bed was comfortable and had nice room controls for the lights on the headboard. I wanted to try out the sauna/spa which sounded intriguing with the aromatherapy mist room, however it was only open in the evenings.   Don't worry about the location, The owner will drive you to Takayama Station. The location near the river is terrific. Grilled Hida beef at food stall (400yen per stick) by the river at the morning market is excellent. - The Spa was the standout! But Iguchi-san was wonderful and the acommodations terrific!
