Featuring free Wi-Fi throughout, a coin launderette and a shared-use kitchen, the entirely non-smoking J Hoppers Guesthouse is a 10-minute walk to the Atomic Bomb Dome. Opened in 2006, it has simple air-conditioned rooms with shared bathrooms.
Guests at J Hoppers Hiroshima Guesthouse can sleep in a bunk bed in a dormitory-style room, or experience a private Japanese room with traditional bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. Towels can be rented, and the dorm room has lockers.
The hostel is a 3-minute walk from Dobashi Tram Station and a 5-minute walk to Peace Memorial Park. Miyajima Island, with the famous Itsukushima Shrine, is a 45-minute tram ride away. Bicycle hire is possible.
The lounge has an LCD TV with international channels, as well as free coffee/tea. Luggage can be stored and a free-use internet PC is provided. Guests can hang out on the roof terrace.
No meals are served. The free-use kitchen includes a microwave, toaster, rice cooker, cooking utensils, and tableware.

I really had a great time. It's quite a familiar place. They invited
me to a party the day I arrived to meet japanese people and had free
dinner and drink. The location is good, 5 min. Away from the peace
memorial and close enough to other sightseeing spots. The kitchen, the
rooms and everything was very clean and comfortable. Good english.
I'll sure repeat.
The stuff is really friendly, so you feel really welcomed in this hostel.
I booked a single room, which was very nice with tatami mats and a futon. the bad and the shower are shared, but the staff always clean up everything really well.

It's a chain hostel, so they have a certain level there, quite impressive! All the necessary info for travelers is provided and they have a very helpful and friendly staff.
I stayed with my friend in a private room in a Japanese style: very simple but nice.

Great guesthouse, great location, and excellent helpful friendly staff ! Dormitory was spacious with a lot of room for putting your luggage, and curtains were very convenient for privacy and not disturbing others. Excellent !.
The room was very comfortable and cozy, the facilities nice and clean and the staff very helpful. Conveniently situated in the city center it's easy to access the main attractions and the bus terminal.
Good guest house. Nice room with Japenese room style. Easy to check in and check out. The guesthouse's staff will notify you how to check in if you want to check in late (after 10pm). Recommended.
Friendly staff & visitors. I enjoyed a party with staff, guests & local visitors sharing food. I was able to leave my luggage before I checked in & after I checked out.

Very close to the peace park. Our traditional japanese twin room was very small... And Sleeping on a thin futon on the floor isn't the most comfortable but fun for just a night.

The only thing I didn't like there was the shower where you have to push it for water every 10 seconds. But it's for saving water, I understand.
Besides the Peace Memorial Park , Miyajima and Okonomiyaki the city doesn't have a lot to offer. Wandering around at night (what I always do while visiting other cities) I encountered lots of strange people and behavior. Strange in a sense that I haven't witnessed sth similar yet in other places in Japan. I can imagine why this city has a rough reputation amongst other Japanese...

A little hard to find, and the location is not quite downtown although near the tram line and the memorial park.
The hostel, especially our room, smelt really bad! Like feet or dirty carpet. And no atmosphere so I don't recommend it for solo travellers!.
The tatami room smelt very bad. The bedshit was little dirty. And the
WiFi wasn't work.
