They were extremely hospitable, the breakfasts had a great variety of fruit, cereal, yogurt and delicious espresso or cappuccino coffee. The location was wonderful for exploring Volterra and other surrounding Tuscan Hill Towns. The hotel is easy to reach by bus from Volterra. Saline is a fairly modern town, but, it is a great gateway to historical and natural sites nearby such as Volterra, Montecatini, and the beaches of Cecina.

  We stayed in Volterra one night on our way to Florence since my wife said we had to stay in a small Tuscan town. The town was fantastic. The hotel was excellent - very cozy room with a nice bathroom, and very quiet, and very clean. The only rating not getting an "excellent" is the location -- it is outside the city walls, about 300 meters out the - The location, just outside the town of Volterra is excellent - five minutes walk from the old town without the bother of parking in a very congested place. The breakfast was a feast in itself. The owner was a mine of information and recommended an excellent local restaurant, La Balze, for evening meals. Excellent value for money and really nice people
