  In principle this is an ordinary mountaineering and/or ski/wintersport hotel located just 200 heigthmeters below the Splügen pass (2213m) in N Italy. The room offered a good bed to sleep in, and a very crampy bathroom. Good local food (dinner, breakfast) offered at the first floor.

Picture the typical movie scene of opening your eyes and having a view of a lake with mountains in the background...That is this hotel :-) Very hepful staff and a good location for exploring the little town of Bellagio and with the ferry a 1 minute walk from the hotel you can explore the whole Lake. Seemed very cool and we will defo d - we booked a room with part view and was the last one as Bellagio gets very booked in the summer. I emailed and asked if we could have an upgrade if a lake view became available as it was my 50th birthday and to my surprise when we got there we had the best room in the hotel. the views were the most fantastic site I've ever seen and well worth the extra cost but be prepared its very expensive every where. staff were very friendly and helpful. it was clean and a lovely terrace for breakfast.

  Wonderful place to stay right in the heart of upmarket Milan. So close to great bars and shopping and all the sights of Milan - very Italian rooms were a joy and the staff are wonderful !!! Can't rate it highly enough !!! - We liked the location and the character of the hotel.   We stayed here for 5 mights and loved the location, right on the main square with its restaurants and markets and very close to the public transport facilities (2 min walk to the bus stop, 5-7 min walk from the ferries). The rooms were a little old fashioned but very spacious and more than comfortable. The hosts were excellent and accomodative - we had to leave early morning for 2 of the days and they al - Excellent location, fabulous lake view from balcony. Rooms extremely clean. Great base to discover the lake. Really enjoyed having breakfast on our balcony. Friendly and helpful staff, especially Michaela. Superb food in the restaurant directly below the rooms.Would definitely return. Top tip - Flew into Milan then used shuttle bus to Milan train station, then train to Varenna, then ferry across to Menaggio - sounds tricky but it isn't - and so much cheaper!!!
