Nice modern clean hotel with comfortable rooms. Excellent location next to train station, and close to the beach and port for boats to Portofino. Great staff that helped with our plans for exploring Cinque Terre. il Nostromo is a great restaurant in the street infront of the hotel (Tuna Tartar for appetizer, Pistachio crusted fish for main course and Tiramisu for dessert - Best meal of the trip).

We loved both Santa Margherita & Hotel Metropole. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, we particularly enjoyed the pool area late in the afternoon and also returning from dinner at night and sitting out on the terrace with coffee and liqueurs. Swimming pool and breakfast area were very good indeed - The sea view from the sea view room was indeed excellent. The pool was great, and we were allowed to use it after check-out. We didn't have to pay for the parking the second day, which I know from experience is rare for a hotel in this area during August.

A true five-star riviera hotel.
Good location just across the street from bagni and also close to the boat terminal to Portofino and 5terre.
The garden at the back of the hotel is truly outstanding. One can easily spend the whole day at the hotel without getting bored.
Great restaurant terrace with view to the sea. I did not try the pool but it also looked impressive.
Room design was lovely and service impeccable.
