I had not been there for a decade or more and this time found it had upgraded itself to a 'hotel,' level 3 in the Italian style of rating.   It was close to the city center. The 14 bus took us straight to the train station and the stop was just around the corner from the hotel.   The room was a good size - double for one and comfortable. The bathroomwas very nicely appointed and clean. The breakfast was good with anassortment of espresso options. They had an English speaking staffmember available at all times and all of the front desk staff waspersonable.

I had free use of the internet.It was great to have the freedom to hold bags at counter for a few hours after checkout to see more sites and the ability to use the shower when i came back to collect my luggage. The Duomo is literally a one minute walk away! - Staff at the Hotel Axial were pleasant and very helpful. My room was clean. The double-glazed windows helped to shut out the noise from outside. The price of the room was very reasonable considering that the hotel is centrally located. I would certainly recommend this Hotel to anyone considering visiting Florence.
