Tigh Fitz Bed & Breakfast - Valokuvat
Mitä ihmiset sanovat
This was a lovely bed and breakfast-the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was a great start to the day.In addition, the owner,Penny, was very friendly and helpful as,when we explained we wanted to spend another night on the island, she called round to find us somewhere available.I must admit however, that the place we stayed on our 2nd night, although was supposedly accommodation of a higher category, wasn´t half as nice as Tigh Fitz and much more expensive, which served to underline w. kaikki arvostelut »
Penny rocks, Staff awesome, They go way out of their way to make you
feel part of the family. On Her night off, Penny took the time for
someone to make sure my mum was able to get in her room, as she forgot
her key with us. There were no taxi, as it was a busy marathon weekend.
She made sure mum got in, and we did not have to walk the 3-4mile back
with the key, & we all thoroughly enjoy the evening. Thank you
Penny. Oh , All ready referred two ladies to change their plans and stay
with you .
I liked everything about the stay - Penny our hostess was welcoming, friendly and a font of knowledge about all aspects of the island. The standard of cleanliness was a credit to Penny. The breakfast (that was included in the price) was superbe and would equal, if not best that of a top hotel. Although it is situated 1.5 miles from the pier I would most definately stay again and would recommend the guest house to other travellers.
The owner Penny is very friendly and picks you up and takes you back to
the ferry (it's about a 20-30 min walk to town otherwise, or you can
get a cab (!0 Euro round trip). Breakfast was filling and prompt.
Bathroom was spacious and the room was very large. Coffee and tea were
offered in the room, and the property was peaceful and quiet. Overall we
enjoyed our stay.
Penny Fitzgerald was absolutely gracious and friendly. Her home is spotless, shiny, and beautifully appointed. What a comfortable evening, great breakfast, lovely gardens. It's a full mile from Kilronan's ferry, docks, shops - but I wish I could walk that mile every day!.
Staff and owner lovely. Very friendly but not introsive. Room very clean and warm. Breakfast provided was great, fab variety. If you like healthy breakfast, plent of options. Penny was great too to recommend some local walks and viewing spots.
Staff were excellent, the owner was very welcoming. She gave us a lift from ferry to her house. The place was clean, warm, comfortable, couldn't ask for any more. Breakfast was excellent, great choice. Scenery was amazing.
Thank you, Penny, for a wonderful stay, Innis Mor was spectacular, much more than I expected. Special thanks for the tip about the little church on the hill. Comfortable, friendly, good food, highly recommended !.
The location was a little further from the port but we liked that. The guesthouse was very welcoming, warm and comfortable. If you're into cereal for brek, the Tigh make their own and it's great.
Spotlessly clean, a welcoming and friendly Landlady who went above and beyond the call of duty in helping us. lovely breakfast, It had everything that you needed in a beautiful location.
- Absolute friendly service
- Very flexible to any requests
- Quite but easy access location
- Clean and Eco-friendly, but still not giving any impression of "cheapness".
The friendly island welcome, the home from home atmosphere, the cleanliness and above all the splendour and decor of the bedroom. The breakfast - second to none!.
Fabulous! Staff very friendly and the place is spotless. Gorgeous view from our room and the breakfast was delicious. Really enjoyed our stay and hope to return!.
The host was incredibly welcoming and after we had been out in the rain all day she offered to dry our clothes and deliver them to our room when we were done!.
The breakfast was excellent. The house is very very clean, excellent.
You are so friendly.
The rooms and bathrooms are realy clean.
We had a great stay in tigh Fitz very relaxing and rooms were very comfortable. Staff very friendly and we would go back for sure.
Friendly and welcoming place. Full Irish included. Penny helped us with booking our buses, would definitely stay there again.
Friendly warm welcome, very helpful staff, very scenic location, true view of rural Ireland, very peacful setting.
The staff, our room, the location with sea view and listening to birds
singing through our open windows.
Penny was very accommodating and personable. The room had a nice view and breakfast was delicious.
Great location, Beautiful view from room. Peaceful and relaxed. Pleasant staff, great breakfast.
Very friendly, comfortable and good value. Excellent breakfast.Would
recommend it to anyone.

Owner very welcoming, nice well kept premises, good breakfast and
near Kilronan.

Hostess/Owner was so welcoming and we felt right at home.
Hospitality. Great common/tv room. Breakfast. Scenery.
Staff, Location, Food, Service, EVERYTHING!!!. Very friendly. Great Breakfast. Rooms Great.
The friendly welcome,
Cleanliness.
Nice place.
You could see the sea from your room. There were good breakfast options
and I got a heater brought to my room, when I asked the landlady to
please turn on the heating.
The place was generally clean and the breakfast was fine.
Clean, good food.
It was clean and had a very nice view.
Landlady was very welcoming.
Nothing. We were not able to stay there due to a very bad storm cancelling the ferries.
Very clean comfortable and very friendly.
The pub attached to the guest house (which had been run by Penny and her family before her) was closed down. This would have made our stay even more enjoyable because Penny was such a good hostess.
The room was a bit dated and the bed was not terribly comfortable, but
the room was very clean. A foam mattress topper would do wonders! Be
sure to bring your own washcloth, bath soap and shampoo.
bit of a trek from the ferry, but easily done on a bike or as part of one of the hop on or off tours.
None.
Leaving!.
Our room was a little uncomfortable and we would like to have a seafront room.
The B&B is a good walk from the docks. I would recommend contacting Penny when you arrive. We didn't, but she found us anyway.
No complaints whatsoever.
no bar.
Leaving.
Tiny double bed.
Nothing, it was perfect!.
Just a tad too far away from everything.
The bathroom didn't smell good because some sort of air leakage from the other room bathroom through the poor piping system.
80 Euro per night for a single person is a bit much. I'll try to
find less expensive options next time I am on the island.
Only a one hour slot for breakfast and the dining room felt crowded when full. The staff while friendly didn't really seem to have a lot of the helpful local info you're accustomed to at a B&B.
Was very far from village/pier. To get any restaurant, shops, supermarket, we had to get taxi every time. One way taxi cost is 5euro. By walk it takes 25min but whether is so changeable, you just cant walk.
Tigh Fitz was so far away from town. We had to rent bikes to get to the
house. There were no restaurants near the house so we had to ride bikes
back to town fir meals. Also the owner is a smoker and the house had a
smoke smell throughout the common areas.
Mattress on bed was very hard and there appeared to be a waterproof sheet on mattress which makes you overheat at night. Room very small, especially bathroom and shower went from hot to cold to hot as you showered and the water spray was pathetic.
The hotel was within their rights to charge us as we were a no show. However, the ferry cancelled on us within the cancellation deadline, there was no way we could get there and no way to cancel. You would think an eastablishment on an island would show some flexibility when faced with the worst storm since 1987. Do not book this hotel unless you are sure you can get there.
