  My wife and I stayed at the Royal Hotel the last night of our stay in Greece. We were looking for someplace close to the airport, due to our early morning flight. We were pleasantly surprised when, upon check-in, we were informed that we had been upgraded to a "Sea view room", which included breakfast, however, due to the fact that we would be... mitä ihmiset sanovat » leaving before 5:00 am, the restaurant would not be open, so the front desk personel arranged to have a box breakfast for my wife and I. We were inv - The staff! They are absolutely the best. Even before we arrived, they made themselves available via email to answer all sorts of questions as well as offer very helpful advice. Those interactions made us feel as if we had friends waiting to greet us in Greece. This was especially helpful since Thessaloniki was the start of our 17-day trip (via car) throughout Greece.   The staff at the Athina Palace was delightful, while the hotel itself was much more luxurious than I had expected, considering the price. It's very close to the airport, and the hotel provides a free shuttle. The staff even offered to pick me up from the airport if my departing flight gets canceled or delayed! Food good, and service good. A great place to stay when travelling onwards.

Had a safe in the room to safeguard valuables such as passport, etc. Breakfast and meals were very good. Bathroom and shower safe and spacious. No steps to get into the shower.

  This was a very comfortable and quiet hotel, even though there was a 350 guest wedding party going on that evening. Mr. Dimitri and Mr. George suggested our room be on the opposite side from the pool so that it would be quiet. They were correct and most thoughtful. - The staff was perfect.
