  The entire staff was superb! Heidi was most friendly, helpful and engaging. The hotel is clean. The rooms and bathrooms are clean. The breakfast was ample and fresh. The food from the restaurant was outstanding. Alken is a pretty village on the Mosel River. Convenient to boat tours and the walk by the water. A quiet road between hotel and river. We had a picnic supper on the river on a glorious evening. The hotel was very attractive inside and out, with cosy drinking and eating areas in traditional German country style. Bedrooms viewed either the river or Schloss Thurant on the hill behind. Owner friendly and interested in our comfort and welfare.
