The hotel is full of character, just right for a taste of old Caen on a budget. Easy walking distance to the bar/restaurant/shopping district between the Chateau and the Abbaye aux Hommes, two minutes walk to bus stops for frequent services to all parts of Caen. Comfortable room in which nearly everything worked. This hotel is great value for money. The hotel owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is in the old town which is really pretty and it doesn't take too long to walk into town. Would highly recommend staying here.
kaikki arvostelut » Great value for money but avoid Stadium bar round the corner miserable and charge extra for coffee after 9pm and short change you! Montmontmarte Bar fantastic just 20 yards away!. The room was spacious enough for 4 people, the bathroom was clean and we got what we paid for. Location is very good too, close to the centre. The staff were very welcoming and most helpful. The rooms had character and it was located on a beautiful street in the heart of Caen. The young man on reception was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fabulous!. It is old fashionned style, but charming and cute, really clean and comfortable. a very pleasant, helpful staff; excellent location for old city walks. Lovely old building with real character ain a great central location. simple, old, NOT PLASTIC, very central- near restaurants etc. Loved location and staff. Room was beautiful. Great price. We got room 1, a quadruple room, which is separate from the rest of the hotel. no parking, but we could park on the street, which was free from 7pm to 9am. cheap option to stay for a night in the region, but if you can afford, Bayeux has more to offer. Very friendly and the location was pretty good for the money. Amazing hot water. Overnight stop or few days city visit Staff very nice. Rooms were clean. Centrally located. The room was right next to reception and the window opened straight on to the street so there were people going past the window and door most of the time. It's only a side street and not a bustling reception, but all the same, it wasn't the most peaceful of rooms. Only one of the two lights over the bed worked and it was too bright for a bedside light. The room is in dire need of renovation and the front door of room 1 needs to be more secure (accessed from outside). Nothing. Our stay was first class. Rooms were small and the ensuite facilities very narrow (for us slightly larger people!). There is no elevator. some street noise at night. Shower was really small. Decor dated. wifi didn't work from the room, had to go to the reception area. the hotel is in a very old building, room smelled a bit damp. Shower head was broken, so we had to hold the nossel by hand, and the tv was smaller than my laptop, but we didn't spend a great deal of time in the room anyways. Very basic breakfast area,small. I would dispute the ' very beautiful street ' comment. Rooms were small. Staff spoke very little English except for night person who spoke excellent English. Hotel was old and "worn" looking. Very outdated, hence the reasonable price. Hotel needs a much needed modernised update. Bathroom too small, shower fixture was broken and folding door was not fitted properly. everything!!! The bedrooms dark and dingy. En-suite very poor with a broken plastic concertina door like out of a static caravan. refused to sleep there and found alternative hotel and paid again but well worth it!!!.
