We spent two nights at the beautiful La Maison d' Euphrasie whilst visiting the battlefields of the Somme and Amiens city recently. This guest house is exceptional: it is elegantly furnished with comfortable rooms and good showers. Continental breakfast was freshly prepared by Dominique, the smell of baking croissants wafting through the ceiling each day! It was a pleasure to share Dominique's home for this short time. On arrival we were welcomed warmly and we sat in the sunshine in the charmin.

She was very apologetic that we couldn't have a twin bedded for so gave us a room each which was wonderful.(2 single women)Lovely rooms and comfortable beds. We were served fresh nectarines with fresh mint for breakfast- very memorable- sitting in the beautiful garden. Walking into Amiens to see the Son et Lumiere is a must- spellbinding.We were only there one night but I would go every night if I was there and . Domenique runs a fabulous Chambre d'hôte, a real home from home. The bed is large and comfortable, the bathroom bright and modern, there was information in all languages about the city attractions. We arrived after a rough journey and Domenique insisted we sit in the garden and have a cup of tea before we did anything els e. She was so helpful and welcoming. Amiens is a lovely city to visit and La Maison d'Euphrasie a perfect spot from which to do this. I wish we could have stayed longer th. What a wonderful place to stay and so easy to find. No trouble with places to park the car and so much quieter than most hotels. Beautiful garden and handy for the city. Very friendly and welcoming. Dominique made us a cup of tea on arrival and helped us with travel brochures etc. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. The breakfast was superb. We fully recommend this b & b and would definitely stay again if ever in the area. Dominique was an excellent host. The rooms were clean. The garden is large and very nice to sit outside in. Breakfast was also very tasty. Overall I would thoroughly recommend this bed and breakfast to others - 10 out of 10. It is also possible to walk in to town from the house (about 25-30 minute walk). You can also borrow bikes if you wish. I was made to feel very welcome by the owner who gave me a few tips for shopping the following day. There is a large lounge area which doubles as the room where a lovely breakfast is served. The bedroom was large with a very comfortable bed. And it was very quiet. I'd certainly go again, and stay longer. This was like a home away from home. After one month travelling around,it was delightful to be welcomed so warmly into such a lovely home. We usually stay in the middle of the old town when visiting cities, but we loved the quietness here and enjoyed the change. The 3 kms from the centre was no problem. A wonderful place to stay, quiet and full of character. Dominique, who is an accomplished artist, was a charming hostess who went to great lengths to make us feel at home, including showing us the eponymous Euphrasie. The breakfast was fabulous. Beautiful garden for relaxing in the afternoon, and we were even served a glass of wine in the evening - couldn't have been a better stay:). Delightful and very attentice host. The road outside was busy when we arrived but after the rush hour it went very quiet. A lovely breakfast!. Our room was very comfortable and the breakfast was very enjoyable. Nit picking BUT it is a good 25mins walk into town, not a problem for me as I love walking but some may prefer to get a taxi- and dont miss the Son et Lumiere- Amazing. There were no negatives for me. That we couldn't stay another night! We would definitely stay here again. There was nothing that we did not like. The only drawback I saw was the location, which is not near the cathedral. Having said that, we had a car and parking is readily available, so for us it was not a problem and indeed we preferred being somewhat out of the city. Nothing. Perfect stay. Nothing much; a little difficult to reverse on to the road from the on-site parking place. So do it the other way round, i.e. reverse in. WiFi was very slow in the bedroom. two single beds instead of double. But when booked think there was a chance that all double had gone not the host fault, booked late. although there was free internet i could not seem to log on . Laptop said might be week signal or something interfering with it. but never followed it up. Possibly a little expensive for the accomodation and a light continental breakfast. N/A. Bed not great for my back. No credit card , but there is an ATM 2 mins walk. 2 single beds together for double, but it was acceptable. Location too far from town centre to walk easily at night (about 40min walk to historic centre of Amiens). It was not clear from the web site that this was a B and B, so it was harder to recognize when arriving because looking for a hotel, and we had made plans that needed the greater flexibility of a hotel room rather than a person's house. Was still ok.
