+The location was excellent for us as there were plenty of local food options. +There was also a night market which was a good place to look for souvenirs. +The lady at the tour operator/desk was very helpful and was able to give us a good deal and we were happy with the tour. She was able to give us more information than some other places that we checked out. +The hotel was clean, bed was comfortable.

From the airport, we rang up and a girl named Qing?confirmed finding a camera bag c/w telescopic lense. We called our tour guide to pick it up and sent to the airport. Thank you Sapphire Hotel staff. You are so honest. Very strategic location, just go down, you can shop at the most busy night market. Eat no problem, a lot of restaurant nearby. Hotel itself was good, clean, comfort and value for money. Everything is good in this hotel. I sure recommend friends to stay here! :). This budget hotel surprised us with its clean and comfortable room and bathroom facilities. It is very central to main street and beautiful lakeside walkways. We very much enjoyed our stay and would stay again. The friendlyness of the receptionists and their high their very fluent English as well as giving me all the necessary informations. I also enjoyed a free pick up from the airport. I highly recommend this hotel. The Staff were very accommodating; and did their best to speak English. The room was awesome, bed comfortable, bathroom clean & well supplied. We would definitely stay there again. Great location close to river and central Guilin. Returned for another 2 night stay following 2 nights in Yangshuo. Walked here from the bus station (15 mins). This time we had a room on 6F. It was larger than our previous room. It cost slightly more. We used the tour desk to organize a trip to Longji and a car to the airport. Great for those travelling on a budget. Rooms were clean, day-time reception staff spoke English, were very friendly and helped us book a day trip to Yangshuo (I recommend this to anyone visiting Guilin!). Evening street markets right outside the hotel were a pleasant surprise. The hotel room design really cool and near the hotel you can find guilin food specially guilin noodle. And the hotel location at xi cheng pedestrian street so you can find many guilin souvenir at night. Easy to locate food and there is a night street market for shopping. There is a airport pick up (but not dropped off) free services which is value for money that save you RMB100. Free airport pickup was an excellent bonus. Would prefer cups in stead of glasses for coffee in the rooms. drinking water expensive. i dont know why. no restaurant inside staff has one older man (who stays at night) , didnt give us early check in as we reached at 7 am. we informed them about it but still that man did not treat well. The bathroom was very small and badly designed. Cigarettes smell in the room. The carpet in the hotel needs renewal! It gives the whole place very bad smell. It is very tired. It has no breakfast service. When we asked for a cab back to the airport, they said it is 120 yuan which is double the taximeter price, even higher than the airport monopoly price of 100 yuan. We were poisoned so we didn't negotiate but that wasn't nice of them. Nothing really, you get what your pay for. Flight delayed and was picked up from airport thinking it was the free pickup that they advertise but was charged100cny. Carpet needs updating, this would make room appearance a lot better. staff(s) are very poor in speaking English. Water cistern leaks each time a flush is made.No computer available for guest use. Close to night market. Rather. Noisy. No in house breakfast available. The view from my room was a carpark. No breakfast but there is a 24 hour bread shop around the corner. nothing. Staff is a little bit unprofessional. The rooms in one side, opposite to the main street don't have good ventilation. Nothing. Th one hotel just have one elavator to cater a 6 storey buidling. The carpets. The rooms don't have windows and the carpets in the corridors had stains. The hotel does not provide breakfast, despite what was advertised online. The air conditioner didn't working at all. The carpets look old and dirty. Replacing them would immediately improve the look and feel of the hotel. The design is good but it is not maintained in a good condition. Facilities look old. Very dirty carpet;(it seems like a general feature in China, for standard rooms; perhaps a superior standard room comes with a clean carpet?). We had to pay 15% more for service charges, however we did not get any services, not even the regular small water bottle for teeth brushing. Night staff speak no English and communication is very difficult. lower floors room window don't have view. Only 5th floor & above have but more expensive. Have to pay RMB100 as deposit for room key card but was refunded upon checkout. Night market could get noisy. Bed was way too hard - even compared to others in China. Room smelt smoky. Room could use a lick of paint. Decor was a bit gaudy.
