  We really enjoyed our stay in the apartment, it had all the facilities for a family or couple who prefer to do their own cooking and washing.   The staff is exceptional -- all spoke English, even the maid. All wentout of their way to be friendly and helpful and gracious. We added on ahalf day, since our flight didn't leave til evening, and the maid camein and made up the room with fresh towels and everything while we wereat lunch. I made a reservation for an Executive Room and when checking in I was offered a cheap upgrade to the Executive Club Floor. Excellent value for money, fantastic breakfast... Also really enjoyed the Club experience! Complimentary drinks and snacks in the late afternoon was a real treat! Been in GZ many times and this was the best hotel I stayed in so far.

  I loved everything about Shangri-La; although abit on the expensive side but worth it. The hotel is the grandest I have ever visited, the service is excellent and has lived up to its 5-star status.   For me is the 3rd time i stayed at Baiyun Hotel. It is a good hotel if you go to Guangzhou for Business. Indeed it is a Chinese hotel and you can have some little difficulties with the language and cigarette (if you are not a smoker). Just in front of the hotel you have a metro station, and a commercial street with many options for international and chinese restaur - The staff were very helpful and many of them spoke English or were able to ask someone else to answer any questions we had. The choice of food was great. Nearly all the written information in the room was in English as well as Chinese! Generally an amazing hotel, staff and facilities.
