Templar Hotel was a great surprise, it exceeded my expecations! No words exist to describe the food experience and the organization of the hotel, I really loved to eat in the kitchen and to have a look at how the dishes were prepared. Very friendly staff, excellent food, a place that you cannot miss if you go to Toronto. The hotel restaurant, Monk Kitchen, and its head Chef, Roberto Fracchioni, were absolutely amazing -- best dining experience we've ever had. Loved the design and decor of the hotel and our room, especially the eye to detail and many unique pieces of art and custom furniture.

This is a one of a kind experience- from the time you enter the hotel ,throughout out your entire stay. Nice place in the downtown. Close to sub. Very contemporary design with a lot of detailes. I stayed 6 floor with nice view. No breakfasts included, but they cook whatever you want and quite fast. It was a very nice modern place. Definitely a different type of atmosphere then your typical hotel. The beds were very comfortable and it was a nice touch having an ipad in your room. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had the pleasure of dining in the kitchen for two delightful breakfasts and one luxurious dinner. It was hard to leave!. Very trendy hotel in great location. People extremely friendly and helpful. Great concept, food and eat at chef's table concept was awesome. Loved that it was a boutique hotel. Very unique. Could eat in the kitchen with the chef if you so choose. art, customer service, easy check-in and check-out, AppleTV. Great hotel, great staff and superb restaurant. Window view,simple lay out. Location. The use of Apple TV and the iPad, while novel, was not ideal -- especially, when combined with the hotel's poor internet connection (couldn't get Netflix to work due to network/bandwidth issues). Not a big deal, but the glass door for the bathroom was very heavy and much harder to open then it should be -- so much so, that it looks like its custom handle has begun to work itself loose under the strain. In 6.2 room was too noisy - fan at the elevator. Too thin walls with low isolation. In the bathroom I felt a sort of vibrating, just like when the cell calls. Had troubles with hot water at the shower. Waited for 3-4 mins for not too hot water even from the cold. Some troubles with wifi appeared from time to time. No signboard. If arrive not by taxi hard to find. I did not like how I could hear every passing vehicle thru the night. Windows need to be more sound proof!!!!! Also I did not like the huge glass bathroom door. It was very heavy and awkward to open and close. Nothing!. nightclub noise in Rm 5.5, too sparse lobby, no cable/satellite television only AppleTV. Bed on wheels without breaks on it, no coffee maker or mini fridge. Made do without though. Premium rooms face a blank wall less than ten feet away, which was not disclosed, ie. no view and little light.I requested a move to a standard room which was great. But I did not receive a reduction to the standard rate, which is not cool. How its been rated as 5 stars hotel. No telephone in the room, no lubbey. You dont fell your in a five stars hotel. Don't stay there expecting it's a 5-Star which is the rating it has on letsbookhotel.com. At best it's a 4-Star and some of the key facilities are not even operational, such as the Japanese spa. I wouldn't be surprised if it's repackaged and sold as condo'S. Not good value for money as a luxury hotel. Noisy and no service.
