  We booked the place over the Internet and were agreeably surprised will its central location. It is at walking distance to Square One and close to some eating places and a 24hr Metro. There is a soccer field just at the back, a play area for the little kids, swimming pool, games room and our kids were not bored!   I really loved the setting---the lobby which led out to a series of pools----the site up on the mountain---the availability of the beach and all the activities.   This place deserves much more credit than the reviews here suggest! I don't remember ever giving a max score in a review but Pelican Suites exceeded my expectation in every aspect. The apartment is beautiful, clean, and very spacious. The staff was more than willing to accommodate our requests.   We loved the adjoining suites for our extended family from out of town, the large TV screens. The Nespresso coffee maker and milk frother were an amazing find in one of our suites.No fuss breakfasts were great, with a good variety of foods, even for our gluten and dairy free member, lots of space for our grandson to wander around. Four or so blocks down side street to Rideau Canal -- great walking site! Will definitely stay here again if I have the pleasure of another trip there.

We will - Everything! I stayed there after a day of Bruce Trail hiking. The front desk staff were really welcoming, and even phoned my room 5-min after I arrived to ask if everything was ok. I treated myself to a king room with a jacuzzi - now that was wonderful after a day of hiking! The hotel's location is excellent. It is at the quieter end of town, yet a mere 10-min walk to the Falls. The breakfast was the usual fair, but there are plenty of alternatives close by.

The train station is only 10 minutes walk away and Square one shopping centre is also 10 minutes walk away. Now that I have done a stay in an apartment like this I have a better idea of extra stuff to take and would definitely rent this room or one like it in the future.
