We went to Paraty by car. We parked it in the first lot we found and reached the Pousada on foot (the historical center of Paraty is a permanent pedestrian zone). Then we asked Júlio, the manager, where it was best to park our car. He sketched that info on a map, then he offered to get there with us, in our car. After a 1-km detour, we reached the spot, which resulted to be 200 m from the Pousada. Perfect location, friendly staff, the decoration in the rooms was not up to what the Michelin guide had led us to expect. But breakfast was very nice and overall it is a charming place.

The pousada is nice enough, but could be better in particular (to live
up to its name) more and better colonial art is necessary. Location
inside the old Paraty is perfect and breakfast has a good assortment.

Room I had had a nice view and was spacious and comfortably appointed,
except for its organisation with three beds next to each other in an
alcove. A/c was not working, while that is certainly necessary. Tv
channels in room inadequate for European travelers, in the lounge there
is a good selection, but the staff is normally occupying the room, even
though they vacate it as soon as you join to watch, it is something that
should not happen.
Pool was closed and we were not informed prior to arrival. This was a
huge factor in deciding where to stay. Building is in desperate need of
repair, smells of mildew. Bed was very uncomfortable in one of the two
rooms we booked. Other room was good.
