We chose the Gilain for the gourmet experience and it fulfilled its potential. The menu was incredible and on discovering it was my husband's birthday they had a candle for his pudding! The staff were very accommodating, even providing an off the menu meal for our young children. Breakfast rated a 11/10 from our 10 year old daughter with freshly made bread and brioche. The location was perfecr just off the main road, with a view of the fields. kaikki arvostelut »
The personable and friendly welcome. Antoine was extremely helpful, he was happy to translate and explain the menu in English. He was attentive, funny and nothing was too much trouble. The dinner was absolutely superb, the best we had in Belgium. The head chef and his team certainly know how to wow their guests and the attention to detail was first class.
Room was spacious and good, although on the ground floor which we did not like. The breakfast was good, although pricey. Unfortunately we did not have an opportunity for dinner which would be the main idea for staying here.
Perhaps the best gastronomic experiences we've had. Staff was friendly. Attention to detail and perfection was over the top. Of course beautiful and unusual tableware. And the wine glasses and presentation were luxury.
We really liked the room we stayed in. It was clean, spacious and we had a lovely balcony with a view to the garden.
Very friendly, clean, well appointed.
The t.v. in the rooms weren't tuned properly and sound echoed due to the tiled floors.
Location was rural and nice but there was not any village close to the hostellerie.
Lack of convenient Internet. A big minus for us.
What we didn't like so much was 2 dogs running in the gardens barking at us a lot when we sat outside to enjoy the sun. Apparently the hotel owners have dogs but forgot to train them properly.
