I don't think you need to look beyond Gasthof Rosslwirt for budget accommodation, cleanliness, comfort, great location, nice breakfast, free wifi (though it is sometimes weak but doesn't really bother you on a holiday as you are there for a trip and not for internet surfing). It is the best choice if you are like being in the country side and also very close by Salzburg, 20-30 minute drive. But I had rathe - Nice farm atmosphere, clean rooms, easy to access from highway.   Quite a spacious and, at the same time, cosy apartment with a big bedroom and living room with kitchen, sofa and TV. Part of a nice guest house with courtyard and a little garden. Nicely equipped. Very clean.   Absolutely recommend this place. As a solo female traveler, I've never felt so safe and comfortable. They even picked me up from the train station and dropped me off at Hallstatt post-stay!   This is really a good choice for me. Thought it is not in Hallstatt, it still has good location. you can go Hallstatt by train (4-5mins), by walk(20-30mins), by ship,or by bicycle. Compared with Hallstatt, I prefer here to live in coz it is more quite and more comfort. This hotel is really good. It's very clean and very comfortable. It has a great location. Market, ferry, railway station, bike rent are reachable on foot. Ms. Angelika was very hospitable and helpful. I strongly recommend Haus Aplenrose.
