You could rent bikes at a boat and bike rental place 2km from the appartment, and with the bikes there were more places to see & more places to in which you could shop!   The hotel owners and staff were excellent and very accommodating, providing lots of information about local services, train times, festivals etc. They were intested in each guest and what they wanted out of their holiday.
