Just 200 metres from Main Beach, this hostel in the centre of Byron Bay offers free use of bicycles and boogie boards. The common areas surround a large heated pool and BBQ area. Free pick-up service from the coach terminal is available by prior arrangement. Cape Byron YHA Hostel is 3 km from Cape Byron Lighthouse and it is 20 minutes’ drive to Crystal Castle. Private and dormitory rooms are available. All rooms have access to shared bathroom facilities. Facilities include a cafe, dive centre and separate TV/reading room. The tour desk can arrange sea kayaking, surfing lessons, hang-gliding, horse riding and trips to Nimbin. The property conducts free walking tours to the Cape Byron Lighthouse, and free wallaby-spotting tours.

I arrived very late in the evening maybe 11pm and could not find any hostel open, i tried calling the '24 hour' receptions of other hostels nearby but no one answered. i found the cape byron yha in an awesome spot and it looked open so i walked in and was welcomed by a lady who happened to still be working late, she organised my room no problem. Very polite, friendly and super helpful. The place seems to be managed very well and I enjoyed staying there. Stones throw from the beach and 2 min wal.

Guests under the age of 18 years are not permitted to stay in the dormitory rooms.

Please note that you cannot check in or check out on Christmas Day (25 December).

There is a free pick-up service from the coach terminal. Please inform Cape Byron Hostel YHA in advance if you want to use the service, using the contact details found on the booking confirmation. Children are welcome, but are not permitted to stay in dormitory rooms. Children aged 17 need a letter from a parent/legal guardian to stay in dormitory rooms. If children are 16 or under, they will need a parent/legal guardian aged over 21 to stay with them in a private room.
