Good standard hostel is really good value and in a great location near (one block back parallel to esplanade) Apollo Bay and within easy reach of some of the best sights on the glorious Great Ocean Road, owner/manager very helpful and knowledgeable and told me road to use to see koalas sleeping in the trees - and they were right there, fab!. Only stayed overnight while travelling and had never stayed in Backpackers before. We were very pleasantly surprised. The unit was very clean and comfortable with 2 bedrooms. Would definitely stay again.

Very good value for money!. Location was great for the area, across the road from the supermarket and local pubs. It had a full kitchen so we could cook in every night. Ideal for our weekend away, close to beach and shops. Friendly and comfortable. Will definitely return here when I return to Apollo Bay. We stayed at 2 BR En-suite. Nice Place. Very clean and great value for money. I will definitely stay when I visit Apollo Bay next time. Fantastic location, close to the main street and beach. The rooms were comfortable and staff were very friendly and accommodating. The high standard of facilities. The spaciousness of the unit. Very clean. Value for money in such an exceptional setting. Furniture a bit old, more like country stile. Shared double is actually a double within a two bedroom apartment, so you share the bathroom and kitchen/living room with one other couple, not all people might like this intimacy. There wasn't any heating in the bedrooms so was a little cold. The kitchen is a little old fashioned, the cooker took a while to heat up but overall can't complain. My own fault....booked for a Saturday night and added Friday later on. Was unable to get same unit and had to change apartments, being without a 'home' from 10 til 2 on the Saturday. As I said, inconvenient, but through no fault of Apollo Bay Backpackers. Utilitarian so not a lot of character. But this was barely an issue. Nothing really. If paying cash for accomodation is preferred, and there is a surcharge for using credit, this could be mentioned at time of booking. Cold room due to cold weather conditions and little heating possibilities. None. No free wifi. The furniture was was bit worn. No soap in the shower. was easily awoken with the outside noise of people coming and going and having to move to another hostel due to room problems. kitchen facilities not very clean. too cold if not in summer. No one at reception during regular opening hours. To old bread next to good. not very clean. Cleanliness of the place. Is cleaned by the backpackers staying in the dorm rooms. Beds were old and uncomfortable. Place is rundown and old.
