We stayed only two nights in Alice Springs and were very happy we had booked Alice Motor Inn. Gee, the manager was very helpful and friendly with good recommendations for dinner and places to shop. When we wondered if the Didgeridoo show was running, he was quick to call and find out for us. Also, he checked with Emu Run Tours to verify they would pick us up in the morning. He really did look after us. The room was clean and well outfitted with everything you'd need, including good air conditio.
kaikki arvostelut » The Alice Motor Inn is a real gem in the heart of Alice Springs. The motel is run by a family, and both Gee and Carmel are excellent hosts. We immediately felt welcomed and, judging for their attitude to us and what we observed in their interaction with other guests, nothing is too much trouble. They provide a well-equipped kitchen for the use of guests, as well as a laundry and line for drying clothes. There is a small but pristine pool. We would highly recommend to anyone who wants a comf. Very friendly helpful staff with good tips of things to see and do locally - especially the feeding of the rock wallabies. It was useful to be able to use the kitchen and laundry facilities. Our first stop off at this Inn we were in a standard room which was okay but on our 2 return trips we were upgraded to the deluxe room which was much better than the standard room. Enjoyed talking to other travellers in the kitchen area. Good value for money especially as we were fortunate to be upgraded and had an first floor spacious room which couldn't be faulted. The ground floor rooms looked a bit hemmed in, with people walking past the windows all the time. Good to have a pool which was very well maintained. And being set off the road, no hassle from traffic noise. With a supermarket just five minutes walk away no worries re getting provisions. Everything! Great value. Friendly welcome before & after our 3 day Emu run tour. Luggage storage, able to accommodate early check-in & later checkout. Adequate basic breakfast, on site cooking facilities, comfy large room ( unlike other squashed 3 bed motels). Highly recommended if combining with tour. Supermarket round the corner & excellent Taste of India Restaurant just down the road. Great location, wonderful proprietor, friendly vibe, very clean and comfortable. Laundry facilities and free Internet with nice set-up for light breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay here. Definitely a much better value than similar accommodations in Kings Canyon and Uluru. Wish we had extended our visit to Alice Springs. For the price, this is a steal. Spacious room, wifi, fridge, shower, airconditioning [ a bit noisy ], very friendly manager ... didn't try the pool though it looked inviting, didn't try the continental breakfast either as we had a flight to pick up but appreciated its availability. Recommended. Good location 10 minute stroll. Gee was lovely and very welcoming. Told us about places to visit and where to eat. Basic accommodation but does the trick especially if you're doing lots of trips starting very early. Simple breakfast but available any time so you can eat at 5am before a tour. The staff immediately accommodated us with a third night, then realized they did not have the smaller room available for all three nights -- got the upgrade to a larger room for free. Computer and internet were free. Breakfast was available starting at 4 am for those going off on tours. The Alice Motor Inn is not newly refurbished, but it is clean, comfortable, and the manager Gee will do many things to make your stay enjoyable and point you in the right direction to save money on trips, and other things. Alice Motor Inn was extremely good value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it is located within an easy walk into the centre of Alice Springs, whilst providing a quiet location. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. This is not luxury but everything is done from the service side to make the stay feel 5*. Breakfast is a nice touch. The 15 minute walk into Todd Mall might have been a problem in the heat of the day. But for us on a cooler cloudy day, it was perfect for a stroll. Bed linen dirty and bed too soft. &Quot;Breakfast" was a pretty meager, do-it-and-clean-up-after- yourself affair, and I still don't know if the eggs in the frig were for guests to use. But really, this is a small complaint. Could do with a little refurbishment. Others reported lack hot water but we had no problem. Guest Parking needed a little more overseeing but otherwise fine. Everything was fine for me but some people may find a basic breakfast - coffee, tea, juice, cereal, toast & jam - also a good 20 minute walk to town, not a constant bus service. No complaints at all. You shouldn't expect a 5 star hotel in the middle of the outback but when you search for a clean nice room the AMI is the place to be in Alice Springs. There was nothing negative. Near a roundabout that boy racers enjoy at night time. Nothing!. Locks on the doors to the room could do with modernisation. no cleaning of the rooms during our 5 day visit. A bit out of town with restricted local restaurants but IGA near for barbecue food. need a coffee plunger in the room. loud noise of small fridge in room. Had a little difficulty obtaining hot water in shower, fortunately the weather was not cold; but I may not have been adjusting properly. Cooking utensils could be updated. Double power point near stove is dangerous, its hanging out from the wall. The only complaint was a toilet seat that wouldn't stay up! (Room 6). Somewhat tired and dated, but that was expected. There was nothing we didn't like at all. Nothing. Some non-working details in the room. Feeble main room light, switching a bit fussy. Loose basin tap in bathroom. no central location, 20 min on foot to the city center. A little way out from the centre of town. The hot water needs to be a bit hotter. Air conditioning did cool down the large room we were in. AC didn't work.
