  The Buffalo is an old-fashioned, neon-signed, pull-up-to-the-door motel like people enjoyed in the 50s and 60s. It was clean and fun in a nostalgic way. The television was up-to-date, and there was a microwave and refrigerator. It met my needs for this trip perfectly. - It was clean and the staff were extremely friendly.   The facility needs much updating. It has a great concept and wonderful staff..but the rooms need more than patch repairs to raise its stsndard. didn't use the pool but there were many who did and it was lovely. AND she had to oversee the breakfast bar. - I usually try to stay at Red Roof Inn when I'm in Lubbock on business. The staff is great they go above and beyond your needs. There maybe needs some updating but as far as comfortable you can't beat it. Nice place to stay

  We were just several blocks from downtown, on the city bus route. City bus fares are excellent in San Antonio for seniors. It was also just 4 blocks from the Amtack station. The neighborhood is on a fringe area but we (2 men) felt safe.   The gentleman at the front desk was just that: a gentleman. Very elegant and polite--wow! Room was very clean and large, although the sofa looked pretty soiled. - I chose a less expensive hotel because we just needed a place to sleep an we were pleasantly surprised.
