This large country house has a pretty Victorian face, and dates back to the 15th century. Gregynog Hall is set in 750 acres of beautiful, formal gardens and countryside. Private parking is free on site.
The traditional rooms are set in either the main house, a separate cottage, and in a converted historic stable yard. All come with a TV and tea and coffee-making facilities, and many have picturesque views of the grounds.
Gregynog Hall has free Wi-Fi in public areas. There is a library with a wide range of books, including a large Arthurian literature collection. In the grounds, there are a variety of way-marked footpaths, as well as hides for birdwatching.
A full, home-cooked breakfast is available each morning, made from local Welsh produce. Delicious evening meals are served, accompanied by a selection of wines to choose from.

We were given a family room on the ground floor in the stable block, so it was more than adequate for two - spacious, cool (it was 25C all day outdoors) very clean and comfortable. The stable block is a conference facilty rather than a hotel, but we were expecting that, so not in the least bit disappointed. I suspect the bigger rooms in the main house are more expensive and are used during a block booking, eg for a wedding. We had the whole gardens and grounds to ourselves all evening, and t. alle bewertungen »
The food was excellent. One of the best wedding meals I have had. Simple, plentiful, well cooked and tasty. The chef Heickle could not have been more attentive. All the staff were excellent.
The staff were fantastic, very polite and helpful.
The breakfasts were lovely to, we had a full english and it was the best I've ever had :-).
Very sensitive to needs of family with learning disabilities. Gorgeous location.
The peacefulness of the location and the service we recieved were fantastic.
The location is superb and the staff could not have been more helpful.
Beautiful place and wonderful walks in grounds and round about.
We love Gregynog and have stayed on the estate many times.
the location & the staff both excellent.

Good breakfast.
The staff and the breakfast were the only good points. The Chef
explained everything to us.
Beautiful location.
We were not disappointed in the least. Only please be aware, unless you are part of a block booking for a large event, the rooms in the main house are not available. In fact the house is closed up for reasons of security, quite understandably, in the evenings when the day staff have left. Make sure your mobile is charged as there are no phones in the rooms in the stable block.
The photos on the website were a bit misleading, although the rooms were clean and comfortable they were a bit tired looking and did not resemble the photos.
No hairdryer in the room either.
Sheets felt slightly damp.
The room facilities (tv, wireless) could have been better.
Please provide better directions as the sat nav took us to the
wrong place.
Facilities in the rooms could do with modernising eg, for holidaymakers better lighting for reading and a larger TV
for business use wifi.
Facilities more 'student' than 'hotel.
On this occasion we were booked into room 1 with picturesque views but on arrival were told we were in a courtyard room with no views. We felt we had been relegated to make way for"more important" visitors.
the bed it was like sleeping on the floor.
the ghosts that visit at night.
Advertised as hotel but no facilities on site eg bar, lounge, restaurant
Also room style in photo advertised was misleading as room was basic with no comfy chair. We had hoped to go round the Hall but it was closed.
The room was very basic no in room phone no fridge no one contactable
out of hours. Bathroom was in very poor state of repair. No lighting
switched on in corridors, in the main building . couldnt get anyone to
answer the phone in the walkway, no night porter answered. Thought this
was student accomodation not 4 star.
Everything else!
Shoddy rooms, poor facilities, poor wifi.
